too hard.

One that sticks out for me recently was western lariat's akira vs. pai - knee p shrm p dbpm in a tournament, spod, and a back turned knee that MC'd pai. It's on vhs only for now tho?

The chibita vs. a midlevel kage where they end up with a hair of life, final round... and kage escaped chibita's uf+P+G. You can feel the crowd going "omfg is this midlevel kage gonna beat chibita?!" The announcer goes nuts when it happens... [TBACv3-39]KuroOugo(Kage_Ha-on)_vs_Chibita(Lion_Raijin)movie_week.avi

daioh_kyasao_2 I think it was... or was it 1? Had some dope kage on kage action, kyasao comes back from two rounds down and lands elite backstagger combos and nasty TFT combos to win.

The entire green book dvd's "another beat tribe cup" section /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

Tho it's nothing special for gameplay, I'd always loved the old kyasao clip showing an escaped back throw in VF4 version A.

16bitvsdaichanpu02_movie_week.wmv - some of the first really leet footage of strong goh playing. It's crappy quality, but the match is close and we see lots of now-standard stuff from jacky and goh... jacky lands a couple of hit throws and the eyeball poke, goh lands the blocked crescent catch throw, damaging knee and uppercut combos, and the pai-style anti-dodge trip, plus lots of spanky looking ground throws. Tho he lost, 16 bit put on a good show with lots of throw escapes and careful use of goh's pokes.

2002bay7-1_movie_week.wmv = another good goh clip where a strong 88% lau goes down because of goh's careful throw escapes and good reflexes.

Really vague but... that jeffry clip (ketu something?) which was the first time we saw the new stance-throw of doom. Also solid use of jeffry's new stuff all around. One of the first jeffry evo clips.

Going further into The Vague Zone now, but if I can remember correctly, in one clip kyasao landed both turn-towards P+K,K -> bb+P -> kickflip as an anti-rising sweep tool.... and also an off the wall kick stagger into running jumonji flying kick stagger into b,f+K,K (I think).
Ultra flashy kage play from kyasao.

Too difficult to single out just one, so I'll just throw in my most recent Goh favorite: daioh_ero02914_8.wmv

In this match (4 minutes into the clip) Arashi displays amazing patience/machi skillz against a strong Kage in round 3. After being dominated for the first two rounds and most of the third, he slowly comes back from nothing (almost no lifebar left and he's down 2 rounds to none), wins the 3rd round, and then sabaki's/hit-throws his way through the remaining 2 rounds with style. Definitely the most impressive Goh match I've ever seen (for the time being). /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

a very few... some moat stuff. And of course the insane combo videos by akira kid. You'll have to get on irc to grab them, until I can get them hosted. Which I think I'll start doing tonight.

Creed -
Do you remember a daioh clip for version C that has 3 matches with the first showcasing a white P1 Kage with a red vest? He's dominating his opponent Akira with ease up till the third round where he miscalculates a ring out victory against Akira and initiates the Jumongi prayer stance. In the middle of this taunt, Akira TRs close to Kage and is able reverse body check throw the still-praying Kage! What sucks is that Akira wins the fourth and fifth rounds as well.

Then in the second match, that same Akira (A) who won, plays another Akira who in round 1 tosses Akira (A) around for maybe 5 seconds only to be thrashed miserably, stylishly, and effectively in the end. The technique employsed by Akira (A) is just astonishing and whoever he may be, is one of the very few Akira players in the Japansese videos I have respect for. Akira (A) escaped almost every throw including each pull-in throw attempt. Every blow he dealt mattered and looked extremely cool at the same time.

The third match was nothing spectacular as it looked like just another ass-beating by Akira (A) against a frightened Kage player.

I completely forgot which Daioh clip it was because I'm at school right now and I renamed it to fit its 'value'. If you know what vid I'm talking about, you should definitely post the name, or I'll look into it and post it when i get home. I remember it having _16 or _19 suffix.

Another great clip that comes to mind is the vol.7 of Shinz playing his brother Moonsuk which you could've d/l off tbzone.co.kr. I believe they replaced the ver.B clips with EVO stuff.

Ahh yes, good old daioh_hi02420_16.WMV ... at first I figured you were talking about kyasao, because at one point he had the red and white outfit, and it's a favorite thing of his to go into jumonti stance while the opponent flies out of the ring.

However this guy appears to be a kyasao wannabe.
If the akira is famous, I can't tell, he's just another 72% akira, but he had a good day.

2 clips really stand out in my mind:

1.Akira Dance-I had never seen anything like that before in a fighting game. This clip displays great skill, mad creativity, and why VF is the greastest fighting series of all time.

2.Java Tea or Maximum Battle VF3 Chibita Clip-I don't exactly remember tournament it was but it starts off with Chibita telling the interviewer he's going to win every round with a ringout. They commence to playing and it's kind of a close first round but Chibita rings him out like he says. After this round Chibita starts playing defensive letting the wolf player come to him but the kicker is he doesn't get hit again (at least that what my memory tells me). All you see is this poor Wolf player chasing Lion all around the subway only to be rung out. Chibita ends the madness hopping Wolf's desperation low dropkick and rings him out one final time with elbow lunging poke. Now this wouldn't be too crazy until you realize this is the quater finals of national tournament! /versus/images/icons/ooo.gif

Don't know who's playing the Akira, but he's going up against Chibita in Lion's stage. Chibita does FC f+P+G throw with a b,f+K+G followup that Akira QRs. Chibita (now facing the wall) does u/f+P+K+G on Akira, staggering him and then following up with catch throw. Way too stylish!

Akira Kid's VF2 100% combo featuring the never-ending senbon punches... I saw Pai float all the way through the ring...

That's not Akira Kid. His VF2 combos agaisnt Pai were never 100%. There's a Lau m-UpKn combo that was 100% against Pai however...I think what you saw was one of GLC's combos.

It's not my combo... the Akira vs Pai one is saturn only, the one (supposedly) done with pre-programmed controller - there were two threads on that batch of vf2 saturn flics (they were korean or japanese, can't remember - asian website).
