This is mainly for the survival horror crew, what do you think of this top ten? I have not played some of the games in this list, but I must say it seems spot on.
System shock 2 is a great SciFi horror. Excellent use of sounds and audio logs, plus your enemies utter some distrubing lines.

Has for alien vs predator, I've never played the version shown, but I have played the Vivendi/Fox interactive remake, and boy the marine campaign is dread. Its more tension then a man can take. Aliens appearing from nowhere, your motion detector sensing everything that moves, your smart gun tracking a cloaked predator, seeing the 3 red targeting dots creeping towards you position, its just nuts.

Has for the Resident evil remake, its my favourite Resident evil game. Graphically I think its still one of the gamecubes biggest achievements. it also has a pleasing level of violence, via the defence items. Stuffing a flash bang into a zombie's mouth, stabbing a dagger into a zombies head, blowing its head off with a shotgun, then picking up the same dagger to reuse again, Jill's stun gun. Then theres the shadows. And of course the redone aqua ring. The aqua ring was crap in the original resident evil, in the remake...dam! thats real water and real sharks, still one of the best sections I've played in videogames period.

Silent hill. When I first got the game has a youngster i could'nt bring myself to complete it. The game is dread, it messes with your head. The daytime sections are a relief in comparison to the nightmare sections, the nightmare sections have there own rules, rooms that don't lead where you'd expect, level geomtry that changes, the awful short visual range. then theres the last section, survival horror makers take note, thats how you wrap up insanity.

Anyhow I'm interested in other peoples opinions on the list. Is there a game you think should be on that list? Do you feel that they picked the wrong game to represent certain series? or maybe you just want to relive some of your classic horror game moments.

Agreed. I hated AvP2, but the Fox Interactive version: master piece. A shame hardly anyone played the multiplayer mode. Xenomorph 4 life!

Once again, I agree. I loved RE4 but it had a few major problems that made it easy on the hardest difficulty: too much ammo and the knife was too good (killing Krauser is fun).

I give a vote for Swat 4 and Operation Flashpoint. Not scary, but tense as hell.

RE4 has great jump moments. I would find a person very much full of shit (or they played the game with the lights on midday) if nothing in that game made them jump at least once. Not to mention the the various death sequences - some of the best stuff I've seen in a game.

I agree with their #1 choice. Silent Hill was a great game. by the end you were on edge for sure.

scariest game? I think the top three are (in no particular order)
    1) Russian roulette
    2) bag tag
    3) Cracker game.

I've never had the misfortune to play any of those but I'm willing to bet they all suck.

    2. Like the game tag except you flick the nutsac.

    3. (fucking gross james) a game where you and your buddies circle jerk onto a cracker, and the unfortunate soul that pops last has to eat it.

Aliens V Predator the vavendi version rocked so hard. Xenomorph levels were well designed and ver fun due to the wall crawling and the viewpoint of the alien and the Marine episodes were freaking crrrrrrrazy. Thanks for mentioning that , I gotta go find that game now. The only downside to it was that there werent enough levels and the predator series wasn't as good as the others.

Res Ev1 remake scared me tons, but SH4's first person bits scared the shit out of me.

I agree with the no1 in the list, but the rest is crap in the above list IMHO. Apart from Fatal frame maybe.
