Tournaments

How do you organize one? Who do you get to sponsor it? And where can you find these people? Where do you find a place where the tourney can be held? Any and every response would be appreciated. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

 

My friend Tyson and his gaming pals organize Extravanganza here in Iowa every year. They rent a convention room in a hotel and ask volunteers to bring conoles and hookups. They charge an entry fee for games, with a percentage of it going to cover the costs of the room. They then post anouncements on forums like this one, Tekken Zaibatsu, SRK, etc.
Organizing a tourney is lots of work, though... so know what you're getting into!

 

Thanx. I want to get some Dead or Alive tournies started in NYC. Do yoiu know anyone who may be interested in attending one? My pal Dahlsim started one in Texas and he said it was a blast. There were hardcore Tk players(those who were ranked in EVO) who attended the tourney. That tourney gave birth to another one which will be held this upcomming weekend.
