    WTF?

    Check this out.

I have to imagine that this is just MS doing some Standard Oil bullshit, because it really doesn't make sense for Paramount to support only HDDVD.

I guess I won't own Transformers now. Oh well.

Paramount will break eventaully. Remember Lucas said the SW prequels wouldn't be on DVd untill 2006? he changed his mind. And Blockbuster doesnt rent HD DVDs. So they'll lose HD money there. Besides whhats stopping any non HDDVD conformist from renting TF on Demand HD and burning it to a blueray?

It's just a desperate measure from paramount, because most analysts predict blueray will conclude the HD format war by the end of the year.

Expect to see a TF Blueray by March.

Well the move by Paramount/Dreamworks extended the hd/blu war.
So Transformers and Shrek is a nice combination. Plus it's much cheaper price wise to any Blu Ray player on the market

I personally prefer hddvd version of movies as the features tend to be better than Blu Ray, but unfortunately this war will last quite a while. Toshiba and especially Sony have too much to loose.

My opinion is that they will eventually cancel each other out and digital downloading will be the future.

Toshiba sleeps on BOTH sides of the bed, actually. They're like **BLEEP** of the home entertainment/electronics business world!!
