Is there anywhere that the translations or origins of the move names that are in japanese? Even the Kanji would be helpful. I'm curious about the chinese styles, and if they match up with real names of techniques.

    Thank you

Thanks. Yeah, I know some of the basics, I was thinking more about the style specific commands. For example almost everyone has a different name for [P]. Chusui, Chugeki, Chuken, etc...

Thanks, that will give me something to work on. I'm actually more interested in the simpler commands, and to see if they translate to Chinese. I'm not too familiar in the relationship between Chinese and Japanese when it comes to terminology.

Where do I find the movelists with the original Japanese kanji?

Please post what you think about the translations of southern Shaolin style
simple moves or styles. I'm also just curious.

I don't know cantonese terms, but some basic translations are:

    步 - bu4 - stance
    拳 - chuan2 - punch (fist)
    踢 - ti1 - kick
    摔 - shuai1 - throw

There doesn't seem to be any connection to the Japanese though...
