Two EX2's dying in one night...

Sigh... Yosuke's here and I run into two problems with the EX2 in one night... on two different EX2s...

#1 - Out of the Box
I bought my second EX2 today and it worked at first until it disconnected itself. I fidgeted around with it and it worked minus one direction. Put it on another 360 and it had trouble getting power. Then fidgeted with it and had same issues consistently.

    #2 - Dropped after nearly a month...
I've had my other EX2 for nearly a month I guess. A friend of mine drops it this evening, no loose parts sounding. However, it now doesn't power on on any 360. I even changed out the safety plug, still no go...

Wow, what a devastating blow losing two of them in such a short time. I assume you can still bring them back where you bought them and get them replaced?

The one I bought didn't even work out of the box, had a loose connection. I opened it up, and no offense to anyone that likes those sticks, but they are put together very cheaply. I can see why everyone mods them.

That's a real shame. Hori used to make pretty OK stuff.

I just bought one of those sticks yesterday.

Mine is working fine so far.

Wow... #3 just died out on me when I was about to start a ranking match with ShakaZulu.

It powers up when plugged in, problem is that it doesn't sync up or anything...

With this luck, I wonder if I'll get 3 red lights on the EX2 eventually...

And you can ask the people around me, I'm not harsh on my equipment at all. I take good care of my stuff... I even try to avoid plugging and unplugging while the system is on, though it does happen from time to time (especially when the controller disconnects on its own).

Maybe it's not the controller but your 360 considering that you lost 3 Hori Sticks in row (which isn't quite normal!) ?

    Or maybe it's a good player's curse ...

I've had some similar issues with mine, it sounds like. Basically, it won't ever sync up if the xbox is already powered on when I plug it in, for some reason.

But, if I plug it into a powered down xbox, and then turn the xbox on specifically using the EX2's guide button, then it works perfectly every time.

Would be a bit annoying if I ever had people over for offline multiplayer, but since I only ever use my own stick for online play, it hasn't been an issue.

Sounds like you're #3 might be a similar problem though, chanchai... might a similar obscure way to get it to decide to work again.

Fortunately, #3 is back up and running. I guess it is a matter of being plugged in while the 360 is off.
