I'll be updating the versus city forum after returning from vacation sometime toward the end of this month.

I do have one thing that I noticed lately.... not sure if its a settings problems or just a minor fluke. Its nothing big, but can get pretty irksome at times. /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Whenever I post something, I'll go into Preview (as per my settings...), but when I click on the "continue" button, I'll always get the error page which says that its unable to continue as the post already exists.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but does the current version post first, then allows the user to "preview" the existing post ? Seems kinda weird, since it should be vice versa. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just thought I'd mention it.

Preview does not not submit your post yet. It does exactly as it suggests, and lets you "preview" your post before submit.

The problem you're experiencing sounds weird. You're not double-clicking the continue button are you? (Actually, I'm not even sure that would cause the same problem).

Another thing is to note which Continue button you're clicking. After the first preview there'll be a Continue button which actually submits your post. Further down the page is the form where you can edit your message some more and beneath that is another Continue button which will generate a new preview. If you want to submit, click the top Continue button. If you want to preview again, click the bottom one.

Also, you should never need to use your browser's Back button in the posting process.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope it helps?

    That's the weird thing! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I'm talking about the "Continue" button that's directly under the previewed post, which should submitted the post. But that's when the error comes up saying that the post already exists. /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm blaming it on Win XP Service Pack 1a. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
    Wahahahahahahaha...

Oh yes, the problem isn't always there though. On occasion, it will work alright, without the error message, but for me, most of the time, it happens. Sigh... probably something wrong with my settings.... /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'll experiment a bit more to see if I can figure out what's wrong.

I'm gonna go all out , sticking with my guns, n blame ur IE or OS.

Seriously, I've had a few ppl encoutering the exact same problem.

Once they changed either their IE or OS.

    NEver had the same problem.

I had it for the longest time too..had to refresh a million times...until i changed my OS n IE~

Another weird situation that I encountered. I was at my girlfriend's place and I tried accessing the forums using her Macintosh. Accessing the Main Index to the various sub-forum indexes gave no problems. Here's the weird part.

When I click on a thread which is pretty big (say, several pages long in thread mode, but I'm viewing in flat mode.), the browser would hang. After a while, the entire system would hang too. Now, here's the weird thing.... if I wait long enough, say 5 mins or so, the entire page would come up, no problems then. (At least, until I try to go somewhere else in the board.)

In the duration of waiting however, I can't do anything else. Smaller pages are viewed with a similar problem, albeit the duration of waiting is much smaller. Not sure how the Mac OS functions, so I'm not too sure what to make of the problem..... erm... help ? /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Oh yeah, the previous problem about the Continue Button, if I wait a bit longer after the preview is shown, sometimes, I get the post has been posted message. Though it doesn't always happen. I'm not sure if its dependent on which sub-forum I'm posting in though, but there is a slightly noticeable trend.

mac IE on OS9 and earlier can really be godawfully slow with certain processes and really takes its time thinking about how to render the page in threaded mode. use flat mode instead.

if you have OSX, use safari.
