OK, i'll put it in my point of view (yours might differ)

    No sign of FT

No sign of regular group play (unless im just not invited, lol)

    No motivation left.

hmmm, im really starting to lose it for VF imho.. it looks like we really wont upgrade to FT. -- such a shame. next time i go to troc i will definatley ask about it again.

but really, i dont play this game often anymore (and it really shows, lol).. i had alot of energy and improvement when i just came back from japan, but it's all gone, lol... i know how hard it must be for u guys to be stuck here with nothing but EVO still. sigh.

incase nothing ever happens with FT or anything, it was fun while it lasted guys, but EVO really is just not worth practicing anymore. ------- well, only if i know that's all we are ever going to have.

    keep it cool guys/....

BK I know exactly how you feel, what you just said is the same for alot of players now. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I'm still motivated to play evo though cause it's still a good version, (I mean look at the 3s people thats an old game there stil playing!!), but yeah with Tekken 5 comin along it kinda puts a damper on things when you see 20+ people crowded round 1 tekken machine and no one playing vf....
plus with all the FT media floating about kinda hard not to feel down..
If we get FT maybe things will change...there was some rumour floating about in IRC that it's in the U.K but I'm the wrong person to ask, I'm sure the full details will come out shortly....
(all I can say is at least maybe we got some hope for an update (Slim I know), what about them European bums like Ogi /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

Edit: (Ignore the stupid arguments there having aside but look at the enthusiasm the North uk vfr's still have /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

You have the players, but no machine. We have the machine, but no players. /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

We have 4 machines over here. But only 5 people playing on a Fri/Sat night at its peak. Sometime even only 2 people banging each other up. Sometime zero.

Maybe I can ask the arcade owner to sell one to you cheap.

... and great was the triumph of evil

No kidding... I went to the arcade last Sat night and there was so many peeps by the VF machines... I was like "wow this is gonna be great!"

And it was great until I got closer and realized those machines wern't FT anymore, but were TK 5! UGH! And so many people were playing it too!

The worst part is now they only have one FT machine, off in some obscure corner that closes at midnight... So much for local FT comp /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yea I feel the same now. I only feel like I'm just getting better at VF too, ya I'm a slow learner at real technical games. Just we need FT to at least liven up the UK VF scene again. I know T5 will be a somewhat big hit now and as soon it hits the shelves early next year, it's over for VF. Unless Sega magically and gayly pop up with VF5 plans.

Even tho T5 is just around the corner, I'm affraid this is one game I won't be playing in comps or anywhere. I just can't play this game on stick very well and I never really did play the game serious enough to begin with. Blame AC(Anil) for that, LOL.

As for the others, it's either wait to see if FT comes out on a console or jump on the shameful T5 wagon. Unless the FT scene gets better in the UK, I won't be on a wagon anytime soon.

.....so umm.....I heard Devil Jin has the EWGF back!

Still no FT in Troc? Damn, I'm coming on the 21st January 2005 for the weekend, looks like it'll be Evo Version A again though! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Tekken 5 is good IMO (it's 3 credit's for a quid at the trafford centre neat me! /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) but it's no VF, I was hoping Raven would the Kage equilavent in Tekken, but I just don't like him.

Better get my VF skills pumped for next year then! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, after a 2 month or so hiatus the north(west) scene is back to what it was at it's peak last year (almost). We have a small but dedicated group of players but unfourtunately we don't meet as often as everyone would like I think.

The commitment and passion are still there (we haven't had a VF cab up here since VF4 came out and even then only for a week or so!!!) but more players + FT would really set the north alight.

Your right Chris, it's been over a year now for the 'North UK' VF player meet's, albeit only one meet (approx.) every two months, aside from the casual meets, me, you, Mike and Mye have. But I'm still loving VF (I forget how much I love Kage for instance), although I do play Tekken 'just for fun' as well (not to mention KOF, SF etc) but feel proud that we haven't dropped the gauntlet for VF, even though I do feel like were fighting a losing battle sometimes.

It's been roughly 4 years with VF4 now and I reckon VF5 is a year away at the most in Japan. It was a similar situation back in 2001 with 'everyone' gawking at Tekken 4, until VF4 emerged.

Regarding FT, how long away is a (hopeful) console version? Maybe 3 or 4 months? I reckon that should keep everyone interested until VF5.

Given the shocking state of the UK arcade industry, I don't think a few FT machines will change anything. Only a PS2 port would fire things up again, and then probably only for a short while.

Even London, a city of 6 million people, sports a truly pathetic arcade scene. Unless you think two grubby and broken versus city cabinets in a children's amusement park constitutes a scene. We need some serious cash investment to shake things up.

I'm hoping this new super casino bill being passed through parliment will do the trick. Where there's casinos there's invariably arcade machines. At least in the future gambling joints and arcades will be given proper respect, and hopefully loose their image as dens for sociopaths.

But the UK is unfortunately full of conservative twits who hold back our society with retarded laws and legislation. If gambling is so evil why does it thrive in Japan with very few ills.

I think I've strayed from topic a bit here /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif But......I don't want more home ports, I want the UK (or Scotland if we ever get independence) to grasp change and develop the kind of amusement infestructure Japan is proud of.

One day I want to be able to leave work of a fine evening, and instead of heading to the pub or straight home, be able to walk into a decent arcade with a big choice of games and play Virtua Fighter with other players as it was intended to be played.. As far fetched as this scenario may seem, it exists in many part of Asia and would only take some common sense and good legislation to set in motion.

ive pretty much given up on VF there is just no motivation to play it anymore when i came back from japan i wasnt really to istatic to going back to evo but i dealt with it and got used to it again. But now evo has been rinised beyond repair there is just no point playing a version of a game which is 3 versions behind or even 4 versions behind if u count playing at the troc.

Cmon you still gotta get motivated by human play though, your fault for keeping on playing BK all the time, come down to a central London session one time /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Me personally my long term motivation gone off the long vf ting, I can play for bout 2 hours max then it's gotta be something else, play vf in short bursts now and again I say and it lasts /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just a correction, gambling is not allowed in Japan..... Those pachinko machines, the earnings you win come in the shape of prizes, and not cash. Although there is a huge black market of pawn shops for pachinko prizes.....

it's depressing........ nobody can be bothered to spend money to go to troc, then wait 20 mins for a turn, then inserting more money into one VF EVO version.A machine, then getting screwed by the sucky arcade sticks only to go back to sleep and wait for your next turn if you dont fluke some good command inputs.

i dont get angry often....... but i cant forgive troc or anywhere else if they are the cause a whole VF scene becoming extinct.

    GAME OVER.

the thing is, IF sega uk did have FT for sale and troc didnt get it, THEN you would hav a angle.

the fact is troc would blaytantly fork out £7 grand plus for a T5 cab as even the tekken heads still faithfully played the tag in the vs cab, even though those sticks are worse (nuff mans cant dragon on 1p side!)

and the fact that troc put the T5 cab in the "alcove", away from he getto utes and tourists, proves they aint all messed in the head.

it makes sence if vf evo is only making £50 a week while tag, GGXX, zero3 all make £50 a day, that the management aint even gonna bother importing a jap FT cab

i know they imported segas initial D 2nd AND 3rd versions, but did you see the sick heads playing it with £14+ nuggets lined up to play???

but they thing is with FT, if i remember corectly, its not just about getting it for £2g, im sure you would need the latest NAOMI2 cab for it to work plus the GD-ROM interface! and someother dongle.

basicly if sega didnt show FT at last months nova hotel mini arcade show, we aint ever gonna get it, minor id rather it come out on jap ps2 anyways!

anyways bottom line is namco uk sell t5, sega uk DONT sell FT, so stop the blod clart crying!

Wasn't referring specifically to Pachinko machines. I heard in Kobe all one can really do at night is drink, eat at restaurants or gamble in rooms full of one-arm bandits.

The culture in Britain is to get bladdered every weekend, which is fine and I enjoy a bit of that myself. But some moderation and/or variety would be nice, which is what they have in Japan.

I'm really just ranting about the arcade industry over here. It's abysmal....but dosen't have to be.
