UK VF~ movin forward

hey, let's talk about this for a while~

so how many ppl ahve access to VF5 or is getting it over the next few months.~

what's the gathering plans, setups, organizations, etc ~

any ideas? ~ it's VF5 now, so unless there's some communication here, things are gonna be as dead as FT

 

Wont you organize ranking battles in UK with VF 5 like with Evo?

 

I've got it, and two RAP3s. My PS3 is actually a debug that belongs to my employer, so I can't take that anywhere, but I can turn up at places with my sticks no problem. Not Friday or Saturday nights, though, which is when the London crew seem to meet up the most.

 

I have a PS3 as everyone knows by now... I have no sticks and that makes vf useless. I can't even play on pad now /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I know Ryan has a ps3 but i don't know if he has the game yet..

So until there is a decent amount of sticks[Hint: By one for yourself or others ]

It's going to be a little bit of a wait unfortunately..

 

I have a PS3 with VF5 and 1 Hori 3 stick. I don't mind bringing my stick to London as it is a minor thing.

Unless I book the weekend off Sunday is the only free day I can come down to London.

but yeah we're in a bit of a transition period, for various reasons some people have the game most don't,
we have enough sticks to go around it's just a matter of organising a venue and date,
I will see what I can do from my busy schedule and get back to people on that,
in terms of vf5 yes I've played it it's great fun, I feel those who own it now are gonna be quite a bit ahead of those who are waiting for the 360 version (like myself :/) , so study what you can whether in theory or just muscle memory from 4 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
Main things to adapt to from 4 is, throw clash, bounce comboes, 0 frame throws, offensive evade, and all the new moves to remember,
anyways please continue this discussion in one or the other thread, no point having 2 ;P

 

I think we should continue in this thread mainly because the title of this thread suits our situation as a VF community better.

Anyway if anything ever gets arranged and provided you have TV's, if you need a PS3, VF5 or stick just pm me. Bare in mind that If you do weekend events I can only come on Sundays so if you plan for a Saturday I need to book at least 2-3 weeks in advanced.

I have a lot of time on my hands and I wouldn't mind organizing an event but I just don't have a venue to host events. It also doesn't help I live all the way in Reading otherwise all of you mans would be welcomed for a session round my yard.

Optimus: If you ever need a hand just let me know.

 

i think in EVO, ppl just use their own stick and carry it around with them after their match~ but in VF5, not everybody will even have the game..~ if it's possible to just get 2 sticks per setup, i dont think it will be incredably difficult if for example there's 2 setups maxium at a venue and 4 ppl have the game.

i cant really be of much use this time round as i dont have a ps3, the game or a stick~ i wouldnt mind hosting my yard if it wasnt infested with a busy family~ sorry guys.

yeah nice one Mark for the offer, hopefully when I get some time I will talk in more depth with the neo empire staff and set a date up for a session and/or torni.
Also don't know if I already mentioned but I will bring the 360 version (once it's released) to casino every friday for casuals.

yeah we will do, it's just the ps3's and scarcity of sticks at the mo are slowing things down

Man, I want to play Jide and Rayne badly! I don't really know anyone here bar you, Oli, so I don't know how that'll happen anytime soon.

I'm supposed to be hooking up with Jide's friend Ben at some point, who says he posts here (I forget the name) and he lives really close to me, so if he comes round then to mine hopefully he can bring Jide. Money matches are stupid, obviously, as I've previously stated (and are the source of Slim Adey's beef with me, I think, though I can't remember). Money matches turn off newcomers, which is what everyone wants in VF, right?

And I *think* Rayne knows my friend Joel at Future, so hopefully that'll be my 'in' there.

You know whenever you win with Shun now it'll be dishonourable. Using Shun will be like spamming Chun Li's Super Art in 3s.

Hey ElectricLeo (whats your real name I cant call you that!) Yeah I know Joel, he said a guy from London he knows wants to play me, but I thought they used Lau. Was that you? Id be so up for some Lion games. Me and Kneeninja had some simply amazing Lion matches sadly saving the replays wouldnt work for some reason. I screwed up playing Jide, just froze most of the time so am well up for a rematch as Im feeling confident. You gonna be up this way (Bath) anytime soon Leo?

OMG three-way Lion encounter!

My real name is Leo, btw. I play only Lion if it's against someone who knows what they're doing, cos I hardly ever get to play against proper players so I don't like to waste anybody's time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I do have a friend who plays a strong Lau, though (much stronger than the only Lau player I ever met down the Troc), and he's well up for coming along to the next organised VF matches.

I'm in Bath all the time for work, next time I come I'll get Joel to sort something out (well, when he's back from Brazil). Maybe even at the Future office on the HUGE screen!

 

Thatd be ace, I played Archangel on that huge screen, sitting like a metre away. Do u work for Future as well?

I'm worried the 360 won't even get a decent stick.

 

Leo was it? Where you the guy at Gamers Day that used Lion? I was the Lei Fei player and Pat (Stalwart Samurai)was the Sarah player.

It was good fighting your Lion and I wouldn't mind to fight that Lion again. I would love to see a 4-way mirror mini tournament between You, Rayne, Jide and Yuukun as you four are the only Lion players that I know of.

If your ever in Reading let's meet up same goes for you Dan(Rayne).

We really need to set up something for all the VF players to attend.
