UK VFDC Video Thread

Man I can't believe how poorly I played in that, what the hell was I doing haha.

 

It's good to be able to see the differences between what your doing when your playing well and playing badly. I noticed I'm inactive, stationary and hesitating when I'm playing badly. There are times when I've missed easy chances to punish whiffs and times when I'm not reacting after blocking an attack or landing a counterhit. I'm also struggling with characters I don't know well especially Lei Fei.

That team tournament was good to watch. Black Dragon almost won it. He was well ahead in the last round.

Feck it's probably the pressure that put you off cause it did go down to the last player from each team. Is that Tim McInnery in your avatar?

 

Yeah. I lost to Lei Fei because I don't know him well enough.

At any rate I'm glad I lost to a fellow pad player.

good games all around guys, black dragon showed some mad preformance, and kneeninja robbed that last round /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

it was kindda funny how all teams only played twice, i was like ... huh? first team we beat then second team was the finals, LOL!

 

I think I'm the only person on VFDC who can put out videos in HD /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

These were encoded at 3000 bitrate (makes the filesize considerably smaller), but they could look better. Next time I post some more videos they'll be not so grainy like.

OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - always buffer a f+p after the string. If the move is blocked you are at +5 frames and the elbow will interrupt your opponent's attacks. If he evades continue the string or throw, your call (he won't though). If your opponent ducks the string you might interrupt him or clash if he goes for a throw (if he ducks and KNEEs like he should, well, this silly string should really be hitchecked for CH /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif ). And if the string connects the short exe on the elbow gives you enough time to see if he will roll or not - if doesn't pounce, if he does afaik f,f+k can still hit and stagger him BT.

OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif / IS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif - I also suggest inputing f+p after it (unless your opponent has a 10/11f jab and shown you repeatedly he will high punch after it). Otherwise you are at +2 on block after this move so the elbow will beat anything else & on hit the floats start with f+p anyway.

OS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif - once again inputing f+p, this time if you think the move will connect, is a safe bet. At +3 you'll beat most attacks (except 10f jabs but you're playing kage atm) and on crumple continue with float and oki. But i further suggest just forgetting about this move against kage (and shun, eileen & lion whose' various lows will simply NOT get CH by this special high and lei fei's & sarah's magic sweeps too, sometimes akira's LBF and of course Pai's bokutai, srsly, special highs /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif )

DS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - why low punch after it? Has UKdiddy shown you he will jab after defensive elbow connects? I was hoping to see you pull a flashy Crush Jaw (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif), you've shown us with akira that you have the execution skills, put them to use for vane too /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

Thanks for the Vanessa advice Erdraug, I just started using her 2 days ago, so I'm pretty much novice in terms of what to do with her.

It's tough to get advice/examples since there aren't really that many references to go from.

Maybe we can get some practice matches if you're available?

 

I don't think i qualify as "reference" due to my poor execution skills (which means you'll only see dumbed down combos) but yeah, sure, add me up! I never say no to an invite when i'm online (unless i'm already invited by somebody else first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif )

The sad part is i've saved a bunch of replays over the past year but my tv has no line out, replacing it does not fit the monthly budget, and taking vids off the screen with my GF's camera doesn't qualify as reference due to every other frame being skipped /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif (plus the image quality is atrocious /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif )

I'm totally oblivious concerning the xbox's features, is there a way to send replays to other players? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

 

Nope, there's no way to send replays of VF5 to other players over live. I don't know any other game other than Halo 3 that allows people to share saved films.
