1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Hi, everybody. First-time poster here. First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear that you all play way too much VF....and I love you for it. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I originally came to this site trying to discover the purpose of the orbs in Quest and found THE motherload. Fantastic site. Thanx. (asskissing done)

I want to hear what you all feel are the techniques one should be picking up in each of the 8 arcades in quest mode (evo). Obviously, there are the quest orders, but I generally feel that they are simply designed to test whether you have the basic tools needed to play the game. I looking for something a little more concrete.
For example, I feel that the 4th arcade is meant to (1)teach you how/when to delay your attacks in anticipation of a failed evade and (2)force you to actually start using (E)DTE(G). Any thoughts?

Oops. Sorry. I really did mean to post this under Q,K,I.

  3. I seriously think you are trying to hard. You could go through quest mode and never develop certain skills. It just all depends on your style of fighting. But, there is a certain amount of skill each arcade requires, that is the closest thing to it.

I agree with you, Alpha, that you could fight on auto-pilot and do very well in Quest mode (I certainly did). Eventually, however, certain skills are learned through sheer repetition (usually unnoticed). I believe that knowing what you should be learning would go a long way towards keeping you focused.
