Korean users are worried that the update will separate Korea and Japan into different area, reducing the number of users who match.
In fact, in the previous console versions (VF5, VF5FS,VF5US), Japan was separated from other East Asian countries, which did not match.

We will find out soon what the same regions are. I was assuming it was based on regions listed in the rank ladder. How is the rollback connection (REVO) and delay-based connection (VF5US) from Korea to Japan?

Ping is about 50ms in games between Korean users and 80ms in games between Korean and Japanese users.
If set the delay setting to about 3, there is no big problem in enjoying the game.

If only think about playing with overseas users, it's definitely more comfortable than PS4 with delay-based access.
I was playing a game with a friend who lives in Seattle, and the ping was about 180ms, and sometimes the rollback appeared, but I was able to enjoy it.

Matchmaking is a lot better now post patch.

Not sure how they set up the regions, but East and West coast Australia can still match up, which is apparently better than SF6 where Perth can't find the rest of Australia.

I was complaining about the online in the rollback lab thread just as this update was hitting Steam, didn't get it until my next session but indeed the matches I've had since have never gone below yellow connections and no one has been doing teleporting ninpo anymore, nice improvement!

      It happened in the end.
Now, if we do a matching search under the same area settings, the frequency of matching between Japanese and Korean users is significantly lower.

So, Korean users are playing the game by changing the download region of Steam to Japan, and novice users who are not familiar with this information will play in a bad environment where the matching opponent is increasingly lacking.

Is it me or REVO on PC is faster game than VF5US on PS4?

The base input delay certainly seems less, meaning there's at least a 2f quicker response to inputs.

That's pretty big, especially if you got a lot of buffering or tight timing already set in muscle memory. I find for wolf it takes me a little bit to adjust my timing of [9][P][+][K] after Deadly Move [P][+][G] between offline and online.

I wonder if one person set to worldwide and the other player set to same area would they match up. I'm not sure what is consider "same area"...as same area for me, I play with players from across USA...which by mile/kilometers is much longer distance than Korea from Japan.

I don't think it's going to match if one person sets world wide and the other sets same area.
It's only going to match people who are in the same Steam region and set same area.
I think there's a certain standard of separating areas internally in Sega. Not a physical distance.
