1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

i was curious if anyone else had experience with using the memory card so people can have multiple characters on one card, like in vs mode so both can be used, I have friends that come over every once in a while and I'd like them to keep a record, so is it safe to keep changing ti back and forth from the slots? My instincts tell me no, but I thought maybe someone here had experience with the sort of thing, thank you for any help and I apologize if this has ALREADY BEEN COVERED. lol

also, this is for the vf4C version, thx

Yes, you can change the memory card slots when the PS2 is on, just not when it's saving (you get a message every time it is saving something). When you're quitting, you have to change the slot again if you want both characters to be saved. Just be careful switching slots, otherwise the save gets corrupted and rendered unusable.

    Memory cards and Evo shortcomings

you know, I'm not sure if anyone already speculated this, but maybe this is one of the reasons why only one memory card is usable in Evo. Think about it: the VF4C system allowed you to rank up cheaply by creating two charecters with equal rank, fighting each other in vs., and then leaving vs. once one charecter has four wins, while the other is already on the next rank. This allowed someone to rank up with only one win (against the same rank) in kumite. I know someone who got to Emperor playing Kumite very little this way. (not me! jeez.) Hmm.

... of course, more likely the reason was the dreadful loading time...

...and yeah, I'd still rather play against my buddy with our custom charecters against each other (with our button configs already set), but given the choice between having them fix it or paying full price, I'll gladly take the game as is on Weds. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So Evo definitely does NOT support memory card slot 2? How can we play from both profiles if a friend has his profile on his card, when loading an Evo system file obviously overwrites the last loaded one?

You can't. This "feature" of home Evo has been discussed back and forth after the JP version came out, use the search to find the threads.

Oh great. Thanks anyways, GLC... I just saw this thread, so I wanted to make sure.
