      Hmmm, I need to work on my promotional skills --> Pre-Beat Tribe and Shadowloo Showdown seems more interesting to me than Vanessa Off (maybe because I am neutral to characters) -_-;;

Saw most of the players doing lots of poking and picking, not so many combos with Vanessa. Some very good matches were played, good even!

      Watching the archives now.

      Singles:

DS f+p,df+k / f,f+p,p will connect against her IS. In fact they seem to hit low enough to be used when DS gets a low wall splat.
OS jump back > descending k works against IS (and against a lot of other short range attacks too!)
OS f,f+k,p has force crouch (25:49)
OS f+p (hit confirm) k seems quite delayable (26:35)
DS p,p (opponent tries to crouchdash fuzzying) stagger k works (34:28)
DS IS roll to the side gets hit by a low punch (34:30) Two things: (i) it's not invulnerable like shun's rolls (ii) vanessa automatically recovers standing :-(
Takedown f+p+g > OM > db+k+g teleports to the other side of the opponent (41:39)
OS f,f+k!f+p+g lancer works against OS uf+p (42:39) either (i) uf+p is not considered jumping at the early frames or (ii) lancers were buffed
OS df+k,p (pause) k is very delayable! (45:29) vanessa almost returns to her neutral animation before continuing with the last hit :-O Later that round we see another f+p (confirm) k
I think i've already mentioned this but DS b,f+p+k works on high kicks too (47:04)
DS db+p+k works vs IS (47:04) maybe it will work vs shuns lie stance down too?
It looks like the new f,f+k+g is NOT the same move in both stances! (49:59 vs 51:08) According Kruza's VF5FS movelist the DS version is 2 frames faster (16 vs 18)! The DS version looks like her VF5 vanilla b+k+g imho.
      1P vanessa is hot (1:03:02)
2P vanessa player is amazing (1:08:56)
Final game (1:31:08) has some nice wall combos, mind reading, the only OS df+k+g hit-throw in the tournament and goes to an exciting 5th round

      Team Tournament:

      Don't IS near walls (13:46 and 14:05)
      OS p,k (opponent backdashes) d+k+g counts as CH > hit-throw (17:10)

      Range )
      DS f,f+k wall splat > f,f+k (21:15) that's just lazy :-D 21:21 we get DS b,f+k,p (perpendicular wall hit) k+g > p,k for some even lazier damage X-D
Mindfucking the opponent while he is rising up with DS uf+k+g (24:02)
DS b+p also hits IS (28:58) From what i've seen DS oki will revolve around f,f+k, b+p and the new db+p+k. Maybe f+pkg if you want to switch to OS.
      OS f+pkg > df+p (39:10) "Nice, i blocked a big move i'll go for a nice mid now" *facepalm*
      evade opponent's high attack > DS k+g (opponent backturned) > k,k connects > opponent backturned again! (39:18)
OS p,df+p CH > d+k,p,k,f (IS) k > df+k,k first time i see that one (43:17) A couple of seconds later i think we see a shun sober combo: OS b+k to end the round > k+g > d+k,p,p (should take 3 DPs)
DON'T I NEAR WALLS (55:33) Speaking of IS, they're confusing - should we call the DS IS "DIS" and the OS one "OIS"? Or just call the DS IS "lie down stance"? Something else?
"I meant to do it" moment (57:46)
      OS uf+k+g > opponent OMs > punishes uf+k+g with p,p,k BACK hit (1:06:48)
DS df+k+g!p+g to punish a blocked sweep (1:08:37) Pretty sure they only sweep punishment i saw up until now :meh:
OS uf+k+g jumps over IP (1:14:11) Obviously.
Why you need to know learn floor scraping moves (01:15:54-01:16:01)
      OS can punish sweeps with f,f+k (crouch stagger),p > df+k,k (01:36:08) but here's a ring out instead :)
Same deal here, OS low punch hits > opponent back dashes > OS d+k+g connects, counts as CH > mount (01:37:58) The range is really good.

      Things i haven't seen yet:

DS db+k+g getting blocked (is there a blocked move animation?)
OS b,df+p+k after a back dash (is the move still evasive?)

All in all, a must-see for any vanessa player, just as zero-chan pointed out while i was editing this post for the last couple of hours

You're going to get *much* more out of watching this if you play Vanessa. She's not seen as much in the high-level JP tournaments as the "popular" characters, so this is basically a fantastic opportunity for us to watch a constant stream of pure tech and pick up some ideas.

Also happy to see just how many players turned out! If only plane tickets weren't $1000, I'd have joined in :3
