    - Sega has registered VF Battle Arena in Japan for trademark protection, which seems to be either a new game title or a game mode in its latest arcade fighter Virtua Fighter 5

    what is Sega up to?
New VF version ala EVO and FT??
    hmm

VF Battle Arena is a mobile phone feature on VF.net. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif It's already up to Battle Arena 4

Just to clarify, Battle Arena is a VF.Net feature, and not necessarily a mobile phone feature. That is, Battle Arena is available no matter how you connect to VF.Net (via phone or PC).

A part of Battle Arena itself, last time I looked at it during VF4 FT, was just a series of mutliple choice questions in different categories. You were allowed to play BA a limited number of times per day, and by answering questions correctly you could earn money to spend in the shop on items, etc.

There was also another part of BA that let you challenge other players. You could specify your character which had a small set of moves (which could be upgraded/changed later) and select an opponent to fight. Some algorithm was used, based on move sets, player level, etc, to determine a winner who would be rewarded with money.

Basically, BA is like a mini game outside the arcade you could spend a bit of time in to earn money.

Finally, for those that don't know, VF.Net is only connected to arcades in Japan.

Aye, I was interested what it was too, especially since it had been mentioned in two threads here and #vfhome topic. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif Too bad it means nothing for anyone outside Japan (as usual).
