VF/DOA Crossover?

What do you guys think? I'd put a poll if I knew how to.

Not trying to start any bad blood. Just asking. I'm not suggesting any specific DOA's or VF's either.

 

Meh I don't think it would fly. I don't see AM2 and Itagaki collaborating on such a project, not to mention the game engines are very different(despite the DoA interface being a half-hearted clone of VF's).
The balance issues would be mind boggling. VF is much more finely tuned to ensure everyone has a chance(this is evidenced by the many versions that are released of each game). In DOA a few characters completely dominate the rest at high levels of play.
I'n not necessarily "bashing" DoA, I think its a fun game with pretty graphics(and I would totally lay pipe all up in Lei-Fang despite her being a mash of polygons-I got issues I know) but it's not really for competitive play.

Anyways, DoA definitely has the lookers as far as 0_0 nice is concerned but for me, if the DoA characters were to be moved using the VF5 engine, that'd be deh awesome.

It would involve slowing everyone down though, DoA is the fastest 3d fighter of the big 5: Tekken, VF5, DoA, Soul Calibur, dare I say it? Smash Bros.

The ninja's would be hit the hardest with the nerf and I would have no problems with Pai and Sarah and Vanessa getting hit with the boob mechanic treatment... oh yeah...

God forbid they made VF5 using the DoA engine, that'd suck the life right out of the game...

DoA cameos in VF6? hell yeah...

 

I am not sure if a game like that will be in a making. The physics and stages of Dead or Alive will have to change in Virtua Fighter standards. Right now, Namco said they want to work on a Virtua Fighter VS Tekken game.[/size]

 

Virtua Fighter Vs. Dead or Alive, That would be great just like Fighters Megamix in the Saturn. Hmn ..., i would really like them make use of VF's engine. But it wouldnt hurt if they create a new fighting engine for the game. Virtua Fighter vs. Tekken wouldnt be bad either.

vf vs tekken would be awesome. I'd totally rock kage's socks with asuka. I wonder how it would work though seeing that both games have very different play styles. Tekken and VF creators are very buddy buddy so it does make a lot of sense. Us fans are pretty split but the creators are best of friends.

Maybe Namco could learn a little something about a consistent step system from AM2's half/full circular and failed/successful evade elements. That would be great.

call me a perv but a perfect crossover for vf and doa would be xtreme beach volleyball, just imagine vf girls and doa's play on the sandy beaches, oh! and aoi in semi-kimono type bathing suit AWESOME!... anyway i think creating a new system for a crossover isn't that troublesome and would avoid exploits btwn two companies copying each others system, content,and strategies hence it be vf-tekken or vf-doa... but on the other hand ripping off other contents has long lived in fighting games, but i still go for new system...

Obviously they'd have to change the gameplay quite a bit. It was the same in Fighters Megamix, it played more like Fighting Vipers than Virtua Fighter.

 

yeah it'll most likely play like fighters megamix.... but i would'nt mind, i thaught fighters megamix was good it being the 1st saturn game i've played, or let it be a Doa,tekken,and vf crossover that'll really be like fighters megamix LOL.. nah too ambicious, or just make another FM SEGA! w/ Ryo Hazuki in it.. hehe

I second the DOA/VF/TK idea. All are good, fun series with each having their own merits.

I never played Fighters Megamix because I never had a Saturn. What was that like?
