1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Well I don't know what to do...
I just need the PS3 for VF5, but it's so damn expensive.
The PAL version does not have an emotion engine chip and VF 4 and evo are not running 100% with the emulation.
It would cost me 600€ for the PS3 and 60€ for VF5.

Another option would be to buy a jap. PS3 from SuccessHK for 450€, VF5 for 45€, 20€ for the 110V convertor + 50€ shipment.
So I could save 95€ if I don't have to pay tax and duty, if I have to, it's going to be 85€ tax and aprox. 15€ duty.

3rd option is to wait for the xbox version but... 6 Month or more without VF5 would be hell.

It would really help if I could have your opinions.

Well, like you said. Waiting for x360 version is hell. In that case you should but PS3 with VF5. No matter which one (jap, US, EU) version you prefer to buy, I can already assure you, that VF5 is not going to be the only one game you're gonna play on this system. There are tons of games (or will be) on PS3, that you'll probably just decide to buy and you WILL enjoy them.

On the other hand, if you can live without VF5 for half a year, waiting for 360 ver., you could still buy the system (x360) even now. And despite me prefering Playstations over Xboxes, I can tell you that there are already so many games on X360, that you would probably find something for yourself to play for 6 months. It IS a very good console, trust me.(Though I still prefer Sony's one ;)).

So... just ask yourself a question "How much longer can I wait for VF5?" And no matter the answer, you can still get a system that'll give you lots of fun, aside from VF.

As for me, I'm buying PS3 on the EU launch day, on 23rd of March (this Friday !!! )

You don't need a converter. The PS3 is dual voltage.
    1. The question is do you need to play VF5 that badly?
    2. Do you want to watch blu ray movies too?
    3. Are you even remotely interested in any other ps3 games ?

I would look at it like that.
The way I see it is can you justify the cost just to play VF5?
Plus you're going to need a stick too, unless you're a pad player.

I don't care about blu ray and currently I'm just interested in VF5. I got the virtua stick for ps2, so I'll just buy a ps2 to ps3 converter. And yes I want to play it that badly, the only thing that stopped me to buy a ps3 until now is the price.
