It's been a while since I spammed my irc fserve here, so here we go -

I'm hosting (via an IRC file server) over 45 gigs of VF-related material. At one point I probably had every VF-related movie, image, sound, or text file.
I'm at the point where I'm going to have to delete old, crappy footage and/or buy a new hard drive /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

In any case, join IRC using the instructions listed under VFDC's "irc" section (under dural's nose). Once you're in the chatroom, type !vfclips to access the file server. The rest is semi self explanatory. You can ask me for help via private message if you need to.

Below is a rough index of my VF movies folder. This isn't all the VF4 footage in existence, but it's pretty close, and there are some recent gems from VF2 and 3 as well. Outside of the VF_MOVIES folder you'll find Mr. Bungle's original VF archive (text, images, sound, and old footage from VF1,2, and 3) as well as more recent collections of my own similar material.

    Here's a cut-and-paste of my index.txt file from the movies folder -
    ------------------------------------------------------
**1-60th - These guys have some sort of direct connection between the VF machine
and their PCs, and as a result they can do insane programmable-controller
stuff and get exact frame data for VF4. They also like to make movies that
highlight very technical aspects of the game or unique glitches.
The truly entertaining movies are of VF2, showing inhuman combos (they're
literally too hard for humans, though there are players who can come close)..
    http://www.dcn.ne.jp/~kazu68k/

**16-bit - A jacky and goh player who shows you his stuff in grainy wmv's. A
few of his matches are pretty good. Hasn't updated in a while.
    http://www.geocities.jp/moviemanatoz_99/movie.html

***Acho - updates fairly regularly and has some very good clips. This site is
known for having tournaments in all the major fighting games... it's a good
place to go if you're a fan of capcom games, SNK stuff, or GGXX.
    http://www.mfr.jp/acho/movie.htm

*****AM_Sega - official movies from Sega's VF page, these are a mix of
tournament clips, clips that follow a specific famous player, footage of how
players perform in 100-man kumite events, and special bouts for a unique title.
These movies are high quality direct feed, they're all tournament quality play,
and the clips are just all around nicely presented - small filesizes, sharp,
and no wasted footage (i.e. the char selection process).
There are mostly single matches here, but there are a few team matches and a
huge live feed of the kakutou shinseiki 2 tournament (I actually recommend you
don't bother with that one unless you're truly hardcore and want to see stuff
like the prefight announcing, player intros, etc).
The only irritating thing about this site is they put everything in streaming
format, which means streambox to download new stuff. Nice site images though.
    http://am.sega.jp/utop/index.html

****Amact - a mix of relative unknowns and more than a few clips of famous
players. The level of gameplay is consistently pretty high, but the quality
of the footage ranges from poor to really poor. Has put out 100's of clips.
The site has moved around, and it tends to mirror other links on a bbs.
The url's die very fast, so it's generally a pain in the ass to navigate.
    Last known URL: http://www.hm5.aitai.ne.jp/~naganuma/index1.htm

***Australia - rare footage of the VFDC webmaster, Myke... a good Kage player.
There's only a little bit of VF4 stuff and some VF3 footage of Kurita, who
visited AU to whup some ass with Taka (and is currently a high-ranking Vanessa).
You can find more footage of Myke and VFDC's other webmaster, Ice-9, in the
    Singapore folder.
    No regular URL.

***Baiagu_Lau - a very strong lau player who semi-regularly releases footage
of himself. If you're a lau fan, this is a good place to go.
    http://baiagu.gooside.com/VFdouga.htm

*****Beat_Tribe - holds tournaments and sells the tapes regularly. They only
release a few teaser movies at a time and they're not put out very often, but
both the match play and quality of the footage is top notch. Their trademark
is the absolute best quality WMV encoding you'll ever see. You'll find famous
players matching up in here as well as some full VHS/DVD captures, including
    the -excellent- green book DVD.
    http://beat-tribe.com/vfr/

**Bmw_caps - about a zillion tiny divx movies showing the basic, max damage
combos for each character in version C. It's part of a project I eventually
aborted... but you can see the disorganized fruits of at least 4 or 5 character
captures. These combos are bread and butter for most versions of VF4, and many
    are still good in evo.
    No regular URL.

**Canada_TO - clips from canada are released infrequently, but tend to be
pretty good examples of north american play. I think a lot of good stuff from
their best players like never gets captured, but there's at least some
tournament footage here of various canadians playing in rochester.
    No regular URL.

***Combo_Videos - always entertaining. Some feature impractical/TRable combos
but otherwise this is a good source of entertainment, especially if you want
to show VF to someone else. Tragic and Raider's videos are well done.
    No regular URL.

*****Daioh - one of the first and most consistent producers of high quality
tournament footage. Lately their focus is on team battles between the most
famous players in japan. In the past they've put out single matches featuring
various well known japanese players like chibita, kyasao, and bunbun-maru.
The gameplay is great, the footage is good (it jitters annoyingly sometimes)
and you get a ton of matches in each video generally. This is where to go if
you want to just download a single 50-90 meg wmv and then watch match after
    match of skilled play.
    http://www.daioh.com/top.html

****Gaolla - more tournament play, generally featuring some of the really
strong tetsujin you don't hear much about like tsuchikumo pai. There's some
good footage of homestay akira before he was famous and lost his 93% win rate.
    http://guntank.room.ne.jp/~guntank2/virtua/gaolla/index-j.html

***HK_VF - footage of hong kong players. I dunno if these guys are the best
in hong kong or just happen to be the only ones with a desire to capture...
but the gameplay is very strong.
    http://hk-vf.net/staging/frame_set/frame_set_movie.htm

*****INCOMING - this is where unwatched videos go as soon as I download them.
You'll find a little of everything. If you're looking for stuff that you know
will be new, go here. I have GIGS of unwatched stuff waiting to be sorted.
    No regular URL.

***Kcat - A very solid wolf player named Texas who isn't afraid to show footage
of himself both winning and losing. Releases vids pretty regularly.
    http://www1.u-netsurf.ne.jp/~texas/movie.html

****Korea - My general folder for all korean movies. Most of these movies are
from TBZone, which is the big VF site in korea along with www.vfevo.com (aka
www.vfzone.com). Clips are from those sites, the NoMercy clan site, and
G-Zone21. The TBzone clips feature the korean players who have become
pretty well known among VF fans... i.e. ShinZ, who is arguably their best.
What to expect: Korean play is generally on a level with japanese play, and
shinz clips can be very flashy. Other clips are solid but nothing special.
Some of the footage is tournament play, a lot of it is not, and there's some
PS2 tournament stuff with wacky 7 round settings as well.
The divx format used by TBzone creates clear movies but semi-large filesizes.

    http://vfevo.com
    http://www.thenomercy.wo.to/
    http://www.g-zone21.com/

***Magoja - A solid korean lau player who puts out a mix of match clips and
fun stuff (combos, bugs, PS2 training, etc). A good resource for lau players.
    http://www.magoja.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=stuff

*****Misc_Japan - when a site squirts out a few movies and then fades away and
never updates again, or when I just don't remember where something came from...
this is where you'll find it. There's a mix of good and fairly crappy stuff
here. You'll find a tiny bit of chibita footage, kyasao playing version A,
early segaru, crappy .mov format stuff of less famous tetsujin like skeleton,
guerilla, and neotower.. even a few clips of gaijin_punch, VFDC's roundeyed
ambassador in japan (currently a 7th? dan aoi).
    No regular URL.

**Misc_ps2 - mostly prerelease footage designed to get people drooling over
VF4 for the PS2 and early Evo clips. Nothing special really.
    No regular URL.

****Misc_wtf - some of this could more correctly be filed elsewhere, but
generally it's captures of bugs, weird stuff, and unclassifiable footage
like the chibita 'hands of god' movie and hyper action battle combos.
    No regular URL.

***Promo - promotional movies for VF4, evo, and PS2 versions. There are some
funny TV commercials for the console versions.
No regular URL (but a lot is from official Sega sites).

***Punch_the_Sempuu_Lau - Another strong lau player who puts out footage of
himself. If you want to play an effective lau, watch this guy's clips.
He's both good and a bit flashy.
    http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown/8024/geobook.html

**Revolution_DVD - the strategy revolution DVD, a good VF4 instructional DVD
that was released in japan. There's newer stuff out, but the tutorial
sections are generally worth watching even though they're from an older
    version of VF4.
    No regular URL.

***Sapporo_Sarah - Sarah footage is probably the rarest of all VF footage, so
this old footage of an excellent sarah player is worth checking out. None of
it is for evo unfortunately, the site stopped updating after a few good clips.
    No regular URL.

***Singapore - Myke, Ice-9, and Danny are the featured players on these clips.
Danny's the only native, myke and ice-9 are visitors. The gameplay is
quite strong but the clips have an unfortunate flicker issue.
    No regular URL.

****Tabara - Great clips from team Tabara... a ton of these feature my
current favorite player, Arashi (playing as Goh). They also have a lot of
footage of Tsuchikumo Pai, probably the best Pai player in japan and another
favorite of mine. This site is updating pretty regularly.
    http://team-tabara.xilix.jp/

***Taiwan - The odds are excellent that I have misclassified most or all of the
movies here. This is pretty strong play from people who aren't japanese or
korean. If that makes you curious, give these a look. The style is aggressive
    and kinda flashy.

*UK - I hate to be a jerk, but the footage and encoding is so poor that I can't
recommend them. Footage from the UK is rare.. and I know there are strong
players there (i.e. Ryan Hart). Unfortunately, seeing blurry 15 fps footage
in 10 second snippets is really irritating. Combine that with narration by
the UK's version of Don King and you've got a painful experience.

***Unknown_Japan - I forgot the name of this site, but they cranked out quite
a few clips then abruptly dropped dead. Most of the clips are blah...
especially for Japanese players... but the guy had his video camera out the
day chibita came to town, and the chibita rapes are worth checking into.

**USA_CA - see some pretty solid play from the bay area and guys like mike,
    spotlite, and tragic.

***USA_FL_hydra - this is footage of the USA's most well known team. They
came from the swamps of florida and ended up playing all over NA and eventually
korea. Some of the matches they captured are very close and show movement and
flashy stuff not often seen from US players.

***USA_NY - see some of the seldom-released footage of new york's players.
Unfortunately, there's almost no footage of their resident japanese players,
but there is some strong PS2 stuff featuring adamyuki and crewnyc.

**USA_TN - decent gameplay from VFDC's tennesee regulars. Check out some of
the evo matches done in VF1 graphics.

***VStage01 + Vstage 06 - captures of various japanese unknowns with a variety
of ranks playing evo. These may be tournament footage from a tape or DVD,
they're decent divx's provided by (I think) gaijin punch.

***Zepp_Tokyo - a complete tournament DVD captured by gajin punch and passed on
to the rest of us. More well-organized divx's, but they're not recent.
