Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. This german site(videospiele.com) says that yesterday AM2 confirmed that VF4 will be released in July(the 4th hehehe.......just joking). I never thought they would be so quick...

further info, but probabliy you alredy know the news.....

Virtua Fighter 4 is apparently farther along in development than we'd expected. Sources have revealed that the game will be going on test in Japan later this week. From May 12 to May 20, the game will be playable at the Gigo arcade center in Tokyo's fabulous Ikebukuro district.
So we get E3 and they get VF4. Can't we, just once, have both?

In addition to sampling the game, gamers will be able to pick up an early version of the tentatively named "Virtua Fighter Character Data Card." This 500 yen card seems to function much like the Virtuaroid licenses in Hitmaker's upcoming Virtual On Force. It stores your user name, along with information on your fighting history, and can only be used with one character at a time. Play VF4 multiple times using the card, and your character is automatically selected according to the character set on the card. When playing with the card inserted into the arcade machine, the game displays your rank on screen.

The card also links VF4 with AM2's previously announced VF.Net service, of which NTT DoCoMo's popular i-Mode cell phone service plays a large part. By accessing VF.Net through your cell phone and inputting the access number associated with your card, you can access some community-style Virtua Fighter features. You'll be able to view nation-wide rankings, find out where the best players play, access a Daily Virtua Fighter news letter which contains techniques for the game and information on new location tests, and change the color of your character.

And get this. The service apparently will send you an e-mail when certain players come into an arcade that you've specified. If you want to play against the best VF players in the world (or just want to keep an eye out for that hot girl who whooped your ass using Aoi the other day), VF.Net looks to be your best shot, aside from camping out at different arcade locations day after day.

The Virtua Fighter Character Data card will be updated with a new version when the final version of the game comes out in July. If you've purchased the card for use during this beta period, you'll be able to exchange your card for the final version (although we'd suggest that you keep it, as it will probably be quite the collector's item in the future).

Look for more on Virtua Fighter 4 in the near future. We're hoping to see the game in some form at E3 (hoping, hoping, hoping), so be sure and check back next week.

100% offical END of july= August

Thursday, Sega announced that it will release Virtua Fighter 4 for the arcades at the end of July in Japan. In addition, the company announced that its service for NTT DoCoMo's i-Mode cellular phone, VF.Net, is scheduled to begin this June. The service allows consumers to use a data card that works in conjunction with the Virtua Fighter 4 arcade machine. The card will allow the player's favorite character to gain experience, acquire items, and at a later date allow for the fighters tochange costumes. All data will be saved onto a server that can be accessed any time free of charge using an i-Mode cellular phone and the ID number on the back of the card. Access to exclusive content--such as rankings, search features, and newsletters--will incur a fee.

I'm fairly certain Sega has already said arcade VF4 will at least be shown if not playable at E3... don't quote me on it.
