I think it will not be that bad at all. people are just getting a little on edge about bad charracters and such. It will take some time to get used to the new animations, but I do have faith in Sega!!!

Whats' the deal w/ the US arcades anyway? They just seem a bit dodgy too me now. Mabye it's reverse culture shock or something. But a Japanee friend was mentioning how when he went to the states, all the arcades were dank and nasty. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

probably overuse, and the fact that some arcades centers really dont try to mantain them at least that's what i think of arcades in my locality.

In the U.S. they usually dont give a f*** about arcades as consoles are taking over. This is saddening to me really as I grew up in arcades. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

Yes, that sucks. I grew up on arcades as well, and I can even play some of those games STILL in the arcades. They've got Super Contra next to VF4 at high tech land. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I'm expecting Kage to not be so "not as good as before" in VF4 Evo.

Funny you should mention that. He's got a mid kick that's pretty vicious. Could be the same as the other, but it definitely LOOKS quicker. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif I don't use him, but I think [3][K] is the command.

Personally I can't stand the TFT. To me it's the ultimate switch move. By this I mean as much of you know the hard way that you can be wining comfortably or just holding on and then BAM you're ten feet in the air and helpless. The amount of times I've skidded over Jacky and Lion's walls is unbearable. It's just such a poorly designed move as throughout your flight a capable player can really damage you. As if a ring out wasn't bad enough.

If they had scraped that throw for a new one, regardless of the controversy from Kage players, I'd be happy. Jacky has been overhauled, why not Kage? As for techniques I'd like to see included well, as a Sarah user I feel she's in desperate need of a fast, powerful middle kick. Now you may laugh at me and say That's all she has. But, those in the know, who really know Sarah will understand that her techniques don't always cut it.

Her Round Kick and the Step variant ([8]/[6]+[K]+[G]) only really come into play as counter attack moves. They just don't have the instant speed of her [4]+[K]+[G] and [7]+[K]+[G] and these are both vertical and linear, easily avoided. Now that her [K]+[G] hits high and enters the Flamingo stance she lacks a keep away kick that can ensure some safety in tight situations.

A [4][6]+[K]+[G] inside crescent kick like her brother's would be ideal. A single move that could crush crouchers and catch compulsive dodgers without too much stress. From what I know Sarah's latest tweaks increase her connection with the Flamingo which is great but, she needs a truly meaty move. Deserves one even.

    This is my opinion.

With the exception of Lion & Jacky, Sarah's the only person w/ mid & low sweeps, plus a bunch of other shit. Considering she's pretty hard to read due to variety of high, mid, low atatcks, I'd say she's not going to see a big 'power-up'.

She's by far got the best mid-kick in the game. [1][K] -- the thing floats like a fucker, and she can really unload on people. If they tamed this (made it not float as high) I'd settle for a stronger mid kick, although I don't think it fits her stature.

As for Kage's TFT - I used to hate this thing. To an extent, it is pretty cheap, but only if you LET it be cheap. I like how it adds spice to the match. IE, if he's going for the ring out, just escape the throw. A good Kage will know you're going for it, and do another one. If it's one of these dickheads that will just stand by the fence on Lion's stage, get a few good hits in, run to the other side, and wait for the time out.

its rather cheap i admit, but i focus on combos after that, not ring outs (which i think would be fair for my opponents), i have very few ringouts on him, i enjoy bashing my oponent in than letting him escape my torment by losing via ring out

I must disagree there completely, that's one of Sarah's key weaknesses, 75% of her techniques hit mid. I can roughly count the number of high hitting moves she has on two hands:

    1. [P] (Including her Flamingo variant)
    2. [K] (Including her Flamingo variant)
    3. [3][P] (Including her Flamingo variant)
    4. [3][P][K]
    5. [2_] While rising [K]+[G] (Uncharged)
    6. [9][K]+[G]
    7. [3][K][K]
    8. [3][K][K][K]
    9. FL [6][K]
    10. [K]+[G] (If you wish to count Evolution)

But now lets count her low attacks:

    1. [2_][P]
    2. [2_][K] (Including her Flamingo variant)
    3. [2_][K][K]
    4. [2][K]+[G] (Including her Flamingo variant)
    5. [3][K]+[G]
    6. [3][K][K][4][K]

And everything else hits mid and, with the exception of [8]/[9][K] which can't be countered, all her other moves can. It doesn't matter how many different looking moves she has, if the vast majority fall under the same attack range. Against a counter character She has very few options.

No complaints there, it's her floater move. Sarah's strength lies in her floats and that move guarantees a meaty combo unlike her [6][K] which doesn't always get enough height.

Back to Kage's TFT, think about it, what other technique gives so much freedom of choice without fear of reprisal and can guarantee you a ring out on most stages if performed within the centre area of the ring if your opponent isn't already near the edge. Where I play (Casino) the people who use Kage don't think twice about using the throw for anything else than a quick win. I've been spared a few time by (UKGuy) but he's so ahead of me that he can afford to give such chances.

It's not like it's a hit-throw like one of Sarah's where there is clear warning before it comes, if you miss the window to escape it (and of course this happens) then you're toast. It really is a poorly thought out move. Only a complete idiot would miss landing a single hit as there's a combo throw follow up if you can't be bothered to do a combo.

    You kidding?

TFT is escapable for gawd's sake, we are not talking about VF1/2, are we?

If AM2 ever removes Kage's TFT, I don't think anybody will play him again.

    Re: You kidding?

i have a really tough time escaping quick throws...i think the TFT should be like one of wolfs moves where you grab them then have a choice on what to do..that would give you more time to escape it...

    Re: You kidding?

    As far as function goes...
-I think Kage already has a good enough throw-game without being a heavy character.
-TFT is fine as it is, extended options would slow down the pacing of the game too much.
-Technically, Kage already has the option of Izuna Drop in there, as well as a lifetime supply of combos.

Just my thoughts regarding ideas towards making TFT a multi-throw type of move. I generally don't agree with doing that to the TFT. I certainly wouldn't want the move taken out either.
