VF4 Evolution comes to Japan?

I've heard that VF4 EVO arrives at Japan on 7th Aug. Anybody knows it come out or not?

By the way, I've just brought the latest issue of "Dori Aracade" where there are 34 pages of VF4 Evolution move-lists. Well, what a big changes of every character. In VF4EVO, it has more and more emphasis of footwork or special move. And almost every character has a new "stance".

- Lau has a new stance called "Tiger stance".
- Wolf has got a special move called "R.A.W." He also has one more throw for down character (3P+G).
- Pai has a new stance called "Bokutai" which can be switched from "MeiShyoubo" stance.
- Akira has a special move called "Teiroukabo", a minor step backward (1P+K+G)
- Lei-fei has a new stance called "Bokutai"
- Vanessa, has a new "Offensive Stance"; now has a new attack mode called "Take down?!", capable of P, 2P or P+K the down characters for 3 times
- Jacky, Animation tuned to be more Jeekundoo-like; more slide-shuffle leading moves
- Sarah has more Flemingo-leading moves (altogether 9 now); a Sarah new fancy combo, "Sweet Spin", 8426P+G.
- Kage has been added with back attacks (P, K, 2P,2K, P+K+G) during the "Jyumonjikamae" stance
- Jeffry adds two new moves leading to his alternate stance. Under this stance (P+K+G), he can now do P, K, P+K, P6P+G)
- Lion can now do forward side-step attack like 9P+K+GP
- Shun Di has his "Chyoukarou" stance enforced with 6 new moves
- AOI is so great by adding new throw moves like P+G6, P+G2, P+G4, P+G8. Also, there are new moves leading to her "Denchinyou" stance. And she can do mid-level attack with 8P or 2P during the stance now. The most significance is, her counter move can do against two-hand, two-leg, shoulder, back and head attack.

The two new characters, Goh and Brads, are surprisingly interesting.

- Goh has a unique two moves (Tsukami) leading to his Judo-type throw moves (21 moves, 5 directions); 2 trial per instance; i.e. even the first trial fails by counter-throw, another trial is allowed

- Brad is so unique to have 4 direction attack by dodge-and-attack, e.g., 2P+K+GP, 8P+K+GP, 6P+K+GP,4P+K+GP. He also has a catch move (leading to up to 3-hit combos. One interesting thing is, he could grasp the opponent sideward, backward or forward once or twice with a joystick. Very unique!

Let's watch the preview promotion movie as a starter.

Oooooooh, looks nice.
So I assume Vanessa's second stance has been totally retooled? I'm interested in finding out what sort of new techniques she has available to her.

Yes, Evolution arrives today. Most of the game centers I talked to said they'd get the roms in the afternoon, and have them installed by evening at the latest... very exciting.

Venessa "offensive move" is totally retooled. Well, the most interesting stuff of Venessa seems to be her new "Take down?" attack. While the opponet is taken down, you may do the following moves:

- P (Throw combo), 1st & 2nd strike
- P (Throw combo), 3rd strike
- 2P (Throw combo), 1st & 2nd strike
- 2P (Throw combo) , 3rd strike
- P+K (Throw)
- P+G (Throw combo)

By the way, Venessa has about 120 moves for punch and kick alone, like playing 2-characters-in-1.

By the way, VF4EVO will arrive at HK this Saturday. Very exciting!

Vanessa players seem to think there's a lot of changes to remember. Myua Tai being totally gone doesn't help, although it appeared that she had it when I first saw someone playing her. I've still not tried her in Evo yet.

Yes, Venessa is such a complicated character who I don't see much adept players using her in HK. But at least, Sega has given her a unique fighting style like bi-stance switch, hold-G attack, and auto-reverse. I'm so grateful that Brad now takes over all Thai boxing tactics and looks really like a REAL thai boxer, much better than Steve in TK4 in terms of gameplay.

Thank you for your report LeoT. I have a question:

In reply to:

Sarah has more Flemingo-leading moves (altogether 9 now)
In reply to:

Sarah had four moves that took her into the Flamingo stance before EVO:

[3][P][K]
[4][K]
[P][K]
[4][P][K]

Do you know the commands of the five new moves? Also, do you know if she has any new moves within the Flamingo Stance or in her regular stance besides the new "Sweet Spin" throw?

Oh man, this has me drooling. That video is just so sweet. Vanessa into her mount, and Jeff going into his stance is just too cool. Goh is just grappling heaven.

Do we know when the frame stats will be released?

Much thanks.

Are the moves Goh does out of tsukami stance all diffrent throws. What do they do. Whats his gameplay. Is in a momentum thing. Does the longer you keep someone in the catch hold affect anything. Is the object of his game to get you in this hold. Does he have a knee. Elbow. If not, how does he make up for it. What are his quick recovery attacks. Can he get into tsukami stance at anytime. Please DETAILS lol

Thanks for the move list, But I want to know how the moves flow together.

What floats, and what you can follow with.
What when you finish a tsukami follow up, can you do another or do you lose your hold.
Im interested in things you cant find on a move list.

Never underestimate the power of the Hydra!!!
