I'm wondering too. Assuming you're Singaporean too?

    VF2 is quite widespread...
    but VF3 is quite rare.

ya, singaporean. VF3 has become extinct here already. I have been playing DOA2 instead the recent years

    At Marina is it?
That's the only place I know that has DOA2.

And you're right, VF3 is extinct.
The no. of arcades I know that has VF3 on constant display is Paco Funworld Jurong.

FYI: There are 2 DOA2s at Bugis Junction on Versus City cabinets. The better players are usually there Saturday afternoons.

P.S. DOA3 is scheduled for a November 8 release. Also, doa3.net is coming soon.

yes, doa2 is @ Bugis Junction. I often go there to play - they got some good guys around (and of coz some cheapos too - esp this guy who likes using Tina & doing her catch throw (the one where she lurches towards u and does VF3 Wolf's throw-that-deducts-almost-half-the-life-bar). Who's ur fave tag team? lol

Anyway I wish vf4 had integrated tag team play in the doa2 sense - 2 characters fighting in 1 game so that the chance for different fanciful combos is increased...

    =P

    Too bad. =(

And w/ no E button, I don't think I'll be very accustomed to the new vf4...

    =(

VF4's control system probably shares more in common with DoA2 than VF3 -- three buttons, free movement, loosened crouch dash input, etc.

Then you have no block/stop animations, quick rising, various hit/stun animations, command simplification (in some cases) and it's beginning to sound more like DoA2 the more I read about it.

Throw in Fighting Vipers and VF2 and you get the idea. The loss of blocking animations is lame, but in another sense it can be a good thing since you have to be more on your toes to mC a blocked attack.

Look out for this guy who always either uses Kasumi and Hayabusa.......or Zack and either Leon or Tina

    www.doa3.net has a forum.......interesting.......

I m sometimes there Saturday nights w/ my bf; I don't think anyone can beat my bf consecutively yet! I've seen this guy who uses Kasumi & Ayane (tag) and he's pretty good...

Another guy uses Jann Lee & Hayabusa and knows of an infinite tag combo (using Hayabusa's leg lift), but other than this he's not that good a player.

And I wonder if VF4 is ever going to be released here.......

    .........

    :p

And I also wonder if they'll take in DOA3.....................

    :-O

His friend was the one who got sent to Japan (winner of S'pore's VF3 tournie back in 1997 I think, or was it 96? hmm...) for the int'l vf3 competition. He goes by the initials "A.T"; any respectable VF3 player in Singapore would know him. /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

Oh, that guy. I don't think I ever got to play the so-called Super Aqua Aoi in VF3 or DOA2, too bad.

    A.T. -> Alvin??

no. The "A" in "A.T" is for Andrew. His friend Leonard won the Singapore VF3 tournament and flew to Japan for the competition.

I think here in Singapore there's no challenge at all - Counterstrike (aka Halflife) wins hands-down! The no. of LAN gaming places that've sprung up here in recent years is ridiculous!

last time i play at singapore...i find players to be rude.

    Rude!? Why you s******* b**********************!!

Seriously now, I haven't come across many.
There were 2 foreigners who refused to leave a VF2 machine [they kept going back for more coins and just stayed there] and left me waiting for an hour. And there were these 2 Malay players who kept telling me to 'die' quickly so they could play. I won the game by the way, to their exasperation.
    Blah.

There was once, that a 5 year old boy just kept clambering around me and bothering his grandfather to let him play VF3 [I was playing it then]. That brat kept tugging at me and I just stopped at Aoi, Level 7!!!!

But I seem to attract a lot of attention from kids. Back where I come from, it's only the really young kids, around 6 to 8 who ask me about VF and watch me play and go WOW and stuff like that. And after I leave they would just rush to the machine. Guess kids notice things that most adults don't. That's sad, really.

when i win, they scold my nation

also my friend go n play VF3 there.
he find many kids and big ppl playing.
but he say people are very rude. because singapore players only wait. and if they lose, they scold. if they win, it's ok..can win is good move. but when my friend and i win, they call us cheap.

Oh dear. Sorry Singapore has left such a bad impression on you. But it's true that Singaporeans have low EQ... we're all kiasu [scared to lose, literally, always wanting to be no. 1].
