VF4 Jp + GS2 + PS2 US V1 = No good

I've heard a few people say that the Japanese VF4, a GameShark 2, and a US PS2 Version 5 will work if you use the swap trick, and that it should work with earlier versions of the US PS2.

I've tried it on 2 different Version 1 machines and it doesn't work. I've got the GameShark 1.9 or 2.0 (Not exactly sure which, but it does list 13,000 codes instead of 6,000). Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

 

That only works with pirated copies.

 

Just burn the original onto a CD-R and the GS2 swap trick works.
