VF4fx FTP, faster and better than before!

Thanks to Dloob who offered to mirror 9GB (and growing!) worth of archived media, VF4fx users can now login almost all the time and enjoy superfast downloads. The new server is colocated on a T3 line and accepts up to 100 anonymous users. Have fun leeching!

 

We may experience a few hicups in the next few days.

Lots of files, lot's of data, it's not straitforward ftp etc.. so, we need to flaten out a few things. It should work fine for the most part.

Wow!!! Great Speed of the new FTP. I've got 70Kbytes/sec, and I believe there will be people got faster than my downloading.

Tried downloading a big file from work today... 498 KB/sec!!! Sweet /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

We've now limited the FTP service to 3 simultaneous connections per IP address (after some joker used a download accelerator to login 75 times concurrently). Those of you using a DL accelerator, take note!

Yeah I was praying for somethinig like this and it happen yeah!!! Know i can downoad Venessa all day!!!!!!!!

 

I must be doing something wrong (imagine that...). My transfer rate is still at 2-3 KB/sec. I right click on the link and select "Save Target As...".

Is there some new and improved way of downloading that I'm missing out on? /versus/images/icons/blush.gif

 

No idea, I do exactly the same thing and get really fast downloads. What's your internet connection speed like?

If you're on 28K or 56K dialup, I doubt you can download the movies any faster than you are right now, unfortunately.

24kbps = 24 kilobits per second = 3KB/sec
24KB/sec = 24 kilobytes per second = 192kbps

Is anonymous connection not valid anymore?
I tried to connect on anonymous and got a password request.
Am I doing something wrong?
