Link to announcement? Does this mean you can "download" a game off an original disc you own?

    The obvious pros are:

    - faster load times
    - no risk of scratched disk

    cons: none?

ABout time! they though of this! because some games lag! on the 360! like rpg games because of the load time,

Lost Odyssey game lags really bad and it's a great game

Do they really mean fall this time? Last time we expected an autumn update it came well into the winter time.

    Here's a con:

It would take valuable disc space, and what happens when it's gone: both the disc and game from hard drive?
And another one: piracy. Even less money for SegaAM2 to make the favourite forgotten game we love (which is Shenmue III). I'm sure it's going to be one HDD for every game. Thank you Mao Zedong!

Brisal, we already have a VF5R for consoles topic.

    - You need the disc to even play the game on the hdd. Piracy can happen either way and I'm sure MS has already thought of this.
    - You can delete the hdd game when its not in use
    - VF5R was barely mentioned here. You can view my proper post about VF5R at home by going to that subject

Side note if Shenmue 3 ever does come out I will get that too and use the hdd the same exact way.

Just like I plan to do with all of my currently played games. COD4, Rock Band, and VF5

Playing games on hd is really awesome!!!
I definitely would like to use this function on VF5!!
I can't stand the noise when the DVD driver is running.....

Btw, I strongly believe that VFR will be released on PS3 and XBOX at the same time. But based on the online service, there is no question to chose XBOX version!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_up.gif
If there is no Arcade except JP, I'm pretty sure that home version will be launched very soon just like VF5 on Ps3.

How much space would be needed to drop VF5 onto the HDD? Cause this sounds freaking awesome lol. Shame the stock HDD is so small on the 360, and 360 doesn't work with external HDDs, or else I'd probably put all my games on there.

    I guess less than 10G, it's not a bit deal~

The HDD space needed for VF5 will be 7 GB.

Thats huge. I only have 10gb left on my xbox so if I wanted that I would need to get a new HD...

Since the disk is still needed maybe they are just going the route ps3 went using some files on the HD for faster loading purposes. Even with the 80g HD people are looking at maybe 8-9 games max for xbox storage. Thats not including themes and other DLC. Maybe they assume people only back up games with the intention of beating them and then deleting the image. Who knows, but I am skeptical if MS goes through with it.

I really would love to see VF5R on 360 as DLC. I'd pay 1,8000 points for it.[/size]

7gb is nothing for my 360.

I have just under 100 free gigs anyway.

Sweet, thanks guys. VF is pretty much the only game I play constantly on my 360, the other games are far and few.
