Ya know, quite a bit of people must have voted for Virtua fighter since it's being announced as one of the first 5! Nice!

 

That's good news. It shows that, despite the usual VF crying & whimpering, the community does stand behind VF's fifth installment on the consoles and its X360 online mode that introduced a new era of community building.

No doubt. I'm sure Sega would notice one of their titles appearing in WCG two years running.

I'm quite surprised VF was picked. That said, it's great news for the VF community around the world. I just hope that this time around, SEGA would actually do something and be involved in the World Cyber Games in some way.

I know their game was picked, but the way their company is acting, it seems they had no idea that VF5 was picked last year.

Well the first mission is to influence WCG via your countrys WCG national team leader (the only persons WCG listens to) and make them change the 5 round thing into standard first to 3 rounds and first to two games. Shun and Itazan are already tough enough without this advantage /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Please try to do it, doesnt matter if youre a wcg competitor or not, find out your countrys team leader and nag to them enough /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Wow! I was thinking Soul Calibur IV would oust Virtua Fighter 5 from WCG 2009 (even though I did my part by voting for VF5 at WCG website). Happy to find that I was wrong.

But seriously, how did VF5 managed to secure the position? Maybe the SCIV fans were too busy playing each other online to notice the voting?! Too bad for them, good for us!

And here's hoping Sega will take this announcement to port VF5R to the consoles (just don't put it on the wee). My guess is they want to milk the Japan arcade market half-dry before releasing the port.

 

Anyway, SC4, SF4 and other are going to be at Evo so it's cool that VF has some big event for him.
