VF5 Card system and Terminals

Hey guys! I'm in Japan and JUST started playing VF5 about a week ago. Had a couple questions about the cards since I just bought one today.

I assume that your card is only usable with a single character. I saw one of the touch screen terminals at an arcade, and I think I very vaguely get the gist of how it's used. I see that's where you set up your costume, but is also how you register your name as well? Also, is there anything that I can do with my card via VFnet?

Haha I'm proud of myself. My Japanese got me far enough to at least create my isao account.

however, do I have to pay for premium access to be able to change my character name and clothes, or is all that stuff something I do at the terminals?

would greatly appreciate it because i am in japan at the moment for three months bought a card and don't even know how to work the thing

from my minimal japanese i think

buy the card then make an account on vf.net isao or watever
enter your card number
go back to the terminal
blah blah blah
go back to net
wait ten days for it to activate or sometin

ok i got an isao account but i don't know what to do next

i didn't wanna give my credit card info so i exited and don't know how to continue

k, i got an isao and vf.net account as well as a premium service plan but i can't register my card....

so i visit the official website and the steps say:
register card at vf.net, then go to terminal, register card, confirm at vf.net then wait for it to be activated...

then i finally finish all this registration junk and pay money for the premium service just to access the site and it says i can't register my card because i haven't played once yet

but when i first went to the vf terminal it said i couldn't register it and had to go to vf.net and when i tried to play with the card it wouldn't let me....

what am i supposed to do?

what are all the guys staying in japan doing cus i am clueless

thats my problem, i have not assigned a character to the card.

but how do i assign a character?

put in money, at character select screen input card, select character?

the first time i tried playing with a card it said i couldn't and ejected the card, maybe i selected the wrong option?

 

wow, ill go to the arcades soon, maybe tomorrow, and try it out

so i bought two new cards today and i could assign a character to each one. I was also able to register them on vf.net


that first card must be defective or sometin...it won't let me assign a character that card and ejects it...but watever

If you speak to one of the staff members of the arcade and show them that the card doesn't work, I'm almost certain that you'll get your 500 yen back.

Arcades here have really excellent service.

but i would like to say that i learned my lesson and if you come to japan i would advise against getting a card and a vf.net account

i wish someone had made a guide about vf.net, premium services and downloading match videos, etc

i thought that you could download tons of videos so i played alot at the arcades and i figured out that you can only save one video a day for one store...thats bs...i should be able to save as much as i want i mean do they not consider people who can't go out everyday to the arcades? wtf?

and whats worse is that i have to reserve the video online, which takes one day to be even accessible and then i have to wait a couple of days just to be able to receive the video...and i bought an 8 dollar for 30 days service...i call it a rip off

i had plenty of good matches that day and im only able to save one? cmon now, and i didn't even save a good one...

vf5 services here are a total waste of money im totally dissapointed...xbox live is way more cost efficient and you can save as much matches as you want...

 

Er... actually, you can save up to three videos per day. But you can only save one replay per arcade. So if you go to three arcades in one day, you can get one replay from each if you have the premium service.

Also you don't have to wait a couple of days for your replay usually. Yes, you have to wait one day for your replay to appear on your list, but to render it, usually it only takes 2 - 3 hours to do it.

i misread how long it took to download the video

but im still dissapointed at how i can save only one replay per arcade, as i only have one arcade with vf5 and its super far.. so i am not able to go there often...

that pretty much means that by the time i leave japan ill only have a couple of vids...i played alot of great people and would like alot of videos to show for it....

 

Hey, I'm with eiyujpn...

I saved a bunch of match vids to the card, paid for a premium account in the middle of April. Come May 1st, it's expired already, and when I sign (again) for a regular account, I can only see the absolute last video I saved from my entire trip, me owning some random n00b in Narita. All of my other matches from Japan are gone.

Somebody help me out! Am I missing something? Do videos in the inbox expire in a week automatically or something? The line at the top of that page seems to say that your inbox will fill with match videos until you can't save anymore, but where did they go? Unless I really don't understand what's going on, this is some bullshit.
