Shun is unexpectedly low, thought he were a kickass character?

Poor Jeffry, always last... Guess his day in Japan will never come. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I'm surprised to see Sarah above Kage! Overall, I have to say the distributions of characters and ranks look good.

It's cool to compare the tier list to this one. Cool in that, they don't match up very much at all lol. Could be people are just playing who they like regardless (Probably the case). Or, the tier list came about after many began playing certain characters.

Err... This isn't the tier list. It's only show the statistics on how many players' character have.

Right. Don't think anyone said this was the tier list >.>

I think most people just play whichever character they like like you said.

I think its certainly much better than the last list to be honest.

Do not underestimate the power of panchira, Jeff.

Also what is this nonsense with Vane at 15th

Indeed, pretty weird seeing Vane so low on the list... In the West she'd have a chance at number 1 I think. Those Japanese are scared of her or something, that's it, they can't handle that much power in a woman!
    ^_^
    Tis true btw.
    Just watch some random anime:
rule #1 the wussiest girl has the most fans. The aggresive one the least.
    (aka Rei Ayanami syndrome)

As for Sarah, (/Vorty nods heavily in Zero's direction) she's indeed riding the panty-shot bandwagon these days... I can tell you I was quite surprised that VF had fallen for that one as well now.

Apparently everybody's wanting to try out the two new ones. I wonder how many of those Eileens and Blazes belong to people with more than one card and just use them as secondaries to have a go with them.

I'd have thought there'd be more Goh's around.
    Ah well.

Yep, Japanese players play the characters that appeal to them most.

    So: Jacky, Akira, Kage.

Even though Akira is "low tier", you can still get your ass handed to you so easily. Tiers don't mean as much in VF.

It would have been nice to see how the stats look in each individual block.

I have a feeling that if you'd cut away the massive "10th kyu to 1st kyu" block you'd get a different picture.

    LOL at the Jacky/Jeffry usage.

You mean to tell me that they prefer Pai, Eileen, and Sarah before Aoi and Vanessa?!? (maybe it is also a familiarity thing [Sarah/Pai being in the series forever] and Eileen reeks of "kawaiiiiii"ness?)

    meh

I asked some JP friends of mine why everyone had picked up Eileen so fast and I got the same response from all of them: Lolicon and/or moe. So there you go.

Also of note: Eileen was the only VF character in Arcadia's yearly most beloved character ranking, at #4. #1 was fucking Exelica from super-shitty shooter Trigger Heart Exelica. Kind of says something, eh?

Sorry I didn't get the lolicon and/or moe part ?

Lolicon: Japanese abbreviation for "lolita complex." As in, a person who has a... thing... for girls who are clearly underage, physically and/or mentally.

Moe: Another JP term, there's a whole debate over exactly what this word means, but it basically boils down to a character or specific character traits that a person (read: otaku) finds appealing, generally of the adorable, youthful, and passive variety. A moe character is one that is designed specifically to be sugary-cute. Some people claim moe isn't at all sexual, but I can assure you that they're full of it.
