    Great match.

Awesome use of Kick sabaki by the Goh player.

    Go to 1:31 for a 114 Brad combo..looks nasty.

on a side note, the music made me lol...so out of place.

    Round 3

That was some stare down. Round 4 was just bizarre, as if he threw the match.

Wish I could see that Chibita vs Itoshun match clearly. Looks like a good one with 2 of my favourite players.

    Nice finish to this match

Sodom Iwasaki Kage vs Yuutenji Lau

Homestay vs Yuutenji (Both have won over 23,000 games each!) Quick trivia...Q: How many hours of VF is 23,000 games, if the average game of VF is about 3 minutes? A: 1,150 Hours!
    <object width="560" height="340"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HurnH3xsr4I"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HurnH3xsr4I" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="560" height="340"> </embed></object>

If you have some interest to see what he looks like in real life, here is Yuutenji's Lau vs MieAkira (Kage), which is the very first match of OTE5 from November 2006.
    <object width="560" height="340"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lNyuYrEc3IY"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lNyuYrEc3IY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="560" height="340"> </embed></object>
(Note for Myke: Can you see what the frames are for the kick in Lau's FC PPK and 33PPK? I noticed I couldn't find this move in the VF5 command list.)

I think Yuutenji has the best Lau in all versions of VF5 and you can see some very strong basic skill in all his videos. You can search &#31056;&#22825;&#23546;&#9734;&#32645;&#32701; on Youtube for more Yuutenji videos.

From the OA vids: at 1;44 there is this big splash effect, and from then on I started noticing the sweat explosions...I never noticed them before! are they move specific?

The splash effect happens with counter hits. They appear earlier than 1:44 as well (e.g. check 0:14 and the start of round 2).

I gotta say that it's kind of refreshing watching vids without the frame data overlay. The action just looks so much cleaner. The lack of the overlay is probably the reason why you're able to notice other details that you may have missed before. For instance, I think I noticed for the first time that dust clouds appear under the feet during an OM or successful evade.

i wrote this awhile ago.. but the one thing i wanted to see in VF was a little more noticeable recovery time. like when u block a move that -18 for ex, unless u know the frames its hard to know what safe and punishable ( for me i had to go study all the frames of evry character, cus i couldnt tell before). With the pushback or like when u block JACKy's full circular, the animation for block is awesome, at least newbies can distinguish whats safe whats punishable a lil more now. I even like the 1 throw escape, online play would be great, no more excuses..

    neways, i have a question.
I think i read somewhere VF5FS that failed evade is far worse in VF5FS (maybe i misread). Im sure that also chnges the stats of, CANCELLING a failed evade into a crouch fuzzy g?? does neone know the specifics? thnks

Read section The risk of a failed evade is now much greater in the Arcadia 124 VF5FS System notes thread.

Not sure about stats on cancelling failed evade though.

You can only cancel evading by 44 or 66, isn't it?

Yeah that's a good sensible idea and they did actually mention that as a reason when bringing back the block stagger for some moves in FS. Tekken 1st implemented that noticeably in Tekken Tag but again only on certain unsafe moves. Maybe they can't be bothered to do all that extra work on the animations required for every punishable attack?

Don't know if there are any evade canceling restrictions like VF3 and 4 but it looks like they can still be canceled very quickly and freely.

The crouch dash canceling looks more like what you could do in VF4 too.
