Awesome. Really enjoyed watching last week's tournament, so I'll be sure to check it out.

Should be even better now that players have had their hands on FS for a week now.

Just a reminder this tournament will be ran on PS3s! Make sure you bring a ps3 stick or pad so we don't hold up the bracket.

Hey guys! I'll be there at 7pm tonight if anyone is interested in some casuals before the tourney. Also, if you are on the fence about joining the tourney, I will give a free 5 minute VF tutorial for those who decide to sign up.

Wait what? How did Rip get 3rd?

I'm not sure how that happened. It must be something about his playstyle that threw off the vets.

I'm still pretty green at this game but somehow I put him into losers. Maybe because I knew his playstyle from Tekken helped in some way.

In any case I'd say his winning wasn't a fluke. Solid fundamentals in a game like this will take you far as we saw.

I showed Rip some Jacky stuff last night after the tournament. He's enjoying the game a lot. Hopefully more people show up next week.

Actually saw most of Rip's winning streak. (Hell, I was a part of that winning streak.) Mostly I'd say it was a combination of really good spacing/3d awareness, and a willingness to throw out Jacky's flip kick in potentially unsafe situations. (That move does crazy damage on counter hit!) Also he seemed to be picking up combos as the games went on.

Like Kapwan said I wouldn't call it a fluke, and after everything DRE was showing him after the tournament, I'd expect him to be a real heavy hitter next time he comes out.

GGs to everyone I played out there. Was cool to meet all you guys and thanks for all the casual matches and info. As long as you guys keep running it at WNF I'll be back out in a week or two for sure. Also if your down Dre, I'd like to run back that Goh mirror the next time I am out there.

Yeah Rip already has solid 3D fundamentals from his Tekken background so his placing didn't surprise me at all. I was watching Dre pass him that Jackie knowledge so I would expect him to be a force come next week as well. I'm hoping he can help get some more of the other Tekken players to play VF before TTT2 drops.

I was scratching my head when I saw Rip placed 3rd, but that's really cool. I watched the stream archive but didn't see any of his matches. Looking forward to seeing him play in the future, and hopefully some other Tekken guys follow suit and support VF.
