VF5 International Gathering

It's never too early to start planning & anyone who has done a gathering knows the problems that comes on with it. So, here it goes & I vote London U.K. as the international gathering for VF5 if not for late 07 at least early 08.

It would be perfect to do it in europe but will US and AU players afford a euorope trip costs ? Dont mention Japanese /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It will most likely happen in San Francisco. Only reply if you really do plan on attending, the number may actually be a part of the decision making.

London is the best location as far as Europe is concerned. Think about it - easy and cheap flights from any major city.

Fuck the US, you've had many of those gatherings. If you won't come here, too bad, it'll still be "international".

 

London is expensive though. Here's my thought process coming from the U.S. or Asia:

"Do I spend $$$ to go to London and play with Western players...OR do I spend the same $$$ to go to Tokyo and play with the world's best and with unlimited competition?"

It's a hard sell IMO.

 

i've always wanted to go to San Fran. Really, though you can't count on my vote as even if I were to make it I would probably choose sight seeing over playing the actual game.

You're missing the point. We're talking about an international gathering. You can always go to Japan or wherever, but it'd be something else, wouldn't it.

 

My initial thought was that if we're going to have an international gathering why don't we just do it in Tokyo? But then I see your point...the character of the gathering would be very different than if it was in the U.S./Europe.

This gathering is for the rest of the world not JP since they have Sega.

This for everyone that's in this community that everyone knows each other but will finally meet irl.

Of course you can go to JP & play the best but I rather play the ppl that I consider VFer Friends.

For the point of going to JP & playing the best your money won't last you a day. With this gathering at least we can go all out & everyone can have fun along the way.

 

If it's going to be London, I'll be sorely tempted to hop over the North Sea for a week or so. Even if only to see what the lot of you are like. Costs virtually nothing these days.

If ever I needed an excuse to visit London this would do quite nicely.

 

US and Japan have plenty of tournaments, Europe needs some good ones, especially the UK.

if you mean there are people who play vf, yes,
if you mean are there any future torni's planned, probably yes.
