Good post Myke. However as I look through the list, I noticed that his d/fP+G throw is called "Enma" yet when I look at the VF5 Command Book from Arcadia that same throw was called "Onigari."I was wondering which one is the correct name.

    First post. Hi all!

Thanks for the upload, but I have a few doubts... First of all, the move names like "oshibarai" should read "ashibarai" (foot sweep). Spelling error, probably. Also, shouldn't "senpou kaiten" be "zenpou kaiten" instead? I haven't played VF5 or FT, but that's what a forward roll is called in judo - zenpou ukemi, "senpou" makes no sense...

Lastly, what about the new throw where Goh snaps the opponent's arm, then throws him over the shoulder? It doesn't seem to be listed here.

    Cheers!

I was updating a data sheet based on Final Tuned, and was spot checking names / transcribing names for new moves, which is the source of some of the name differences.

    To answer questions specifically:

Enma vs Onigari - black book has the VF5 move as onigari

Ashibarai is clearly correct; あ and お are close enough at that font size that whoever transcribed it probably confused them.

As for the ukemi, I don't know that goh's ukemi is different from anyone elses in vf5, so it probably doesnt make sense to have that move in the movelist at all, especially since /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif starts the basara

Most importantly, about the new throw, all of his throws from the black book are represented in the posted move list - 12 high throws from a standard position (ie not backturned etc). From your description, it sounds like a hollywoodized version of seoinage, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. Possibly an animation change? I don't have the game yet, so can't confirm.

Myke, let me know if you want me to check the transcription on all of the names + send you an updated list.

That throw is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, the old one is gone.

I think he was referring to Goh's forward roll, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, which is incorrectly listed as just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (which was the command in FT).

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Myke, let me know if you want me to check the transcription on all of the names + send you an updated list. </div></div>
Yeah, I'd appreciate that. I'll send you the latest which you can update and send back to me.

Thanks to all for the feedback.

Thanks for the info. Still, that's a pity they've actually removed that throw... Looked cool (puh-LEASE don't get up! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif) , even though it was just 45 damage. Too unrealistic for vf maybe?

On the other hand, I'm really glad they got rid of ganseki otoshi (bP+G in Evo) in the end; ganseki consists of grabbing your opponent's collar with two hands and flipping him over the shoulder... Looked pretty ridiculous when done on shirtless Jeffry for example... or Dural.

I'm pretty sure the fP+G+K roll should be "zenpou kaiten ukemi" ("forward roll breakfall"). Would somebody please check it again? It seems to be mispelled in FT movelist, also.

    Cheers!

The forward roll is definitely "zenpou... " not "senpou...", and will be corrected shortly.

    Thanks for your patience.

    As opposed to Kage's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and Akira's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

One more thing - why is the u/dK+G technique called deashibarai? It looks nothing like it - it's not a sweep, it's a block (sasae tsurikomi ashi probably)! Deashibarai is something Goh does from Tsukami (and a "naked" ashibarai motion is executed by u/dP+K). But if that's still written like it in-game, that's probably just someone at AM2's mistake /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif ...

Heh. You know, the first thing I thought about after typing these words was Kage's "dragon punch", so... But what I meant is, in judo a properly executed throw/sweep will always result in the opponent falling on his back (if you're lucky and he didn't spin around). That's exactly the case with Goh's techniques, except for df,dfP+G (which is a seoi nage - but performed on opponent's back, thus the opponent slams the ground face first), and his new dfP+G throw (same basic principle).

The old dfP+G was, I believe, just an ordinary kosoto gari (minor outer reap), and should result in the opponent falling on his back, too (in the direction of the reaped leg). Which doesn't happen, and he falls of his face instead - which, in turn, is unrealistic - just look at the way falling opponent's body spins.
. The examples you gave are just exaggerated normal effects of techniques, but falling face first after such a technique is just off the ball... It was cool though, so I liked it anyway, heh.

Oops, was that still on topic /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif ?

not sure what you mean when you say it's a "block". the u/d k+g is a shift throw that when it hits, looks very much like an "ashi barai" (e.g. he sweeps the opponent's legs to cause a fall). i would think the "de" is just to indicate that his foot is sticking out.

Ok, I doublechecked the command list against the black book + the ingame command list & fixed a few things. It's on its way to myke, so should be up shortly.

    Some points :

    - The ingame menu romanizes things a little differently, so don't complain about Oosotogari vs Osotogari

    - The ingame menu is flat wrong in a couple of places (mostly ga vs ka kinda stuff)

    - Sorry about the ukemi confusion, the command for his forward roll has been corrected

    - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif / /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif 出足払い (how do you paste shift-jis?) is definitely deashibarai. Yeah, it looks weird if it doesnt hit, but it when it hits . . . http://www2.edu.ipa.go.jp/gz/s-spo/s-oaa/s-oba/IPA-spo0950.htm

How many frames are there after succesful d/f+P+K?
It allowed you to do f+P+K,P or even b+P+K in closed stance if I remember correctly. Did that change here?

After sabaki it gives +13 frames advantage.

    Command list updated.

Goh doesn't sweep that leg, he blocks it with his foot, and the twisting action of his torso makes the opponent fall. Look closely /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif . In a sweep, the foot sweeps the opponent's leg like a broom, very closely to the ground, and the hand action only helps a bit.
I still believe it's a game designer's mistake. Deashibarai - 出足払い is a sweep, so a fall from this technique looks like slipping on a banana peel.
Sasae tsurikomi ashi - 支釣込足 is a block of the opponent's advancing leg, and the opponent thrown with this technique does a cartwheel of sorts. That's exactly what happens after when /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif connects, it isn't just some exaggerated effect. Probably just a mix-up during the naming of techniques...

Anyone interested can go see Judoinfo's Gokyo-no Waza videos. You can see videos demonstrating both techniques there, deashibarai and sasae tsurikomi ashi are in the first row. There are also some other techniques Goh can do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif.

So, based on the command list, you can't do f+P+KP, or the b+P+K (in closed stance). Tell me, am I right when I think it was guaranteed in VF4 Evo?
In Free training it counted it as a combo (com. set as guard all).

Those attacks you mentioned weren't guaranteed in VF4. For both VF4FT and VF5, Goh's best bet after the sabaki is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

On "Rata" (open) you need to dash to throw, on "Amai" (closed) the opponent is within throwing range already. (reversed stance? I'm forgetting all of my Goh info)

I wonder if they modified the range after open stance sabaki (to closer) for the throw... then again, Goh's BT game is pretty sweet (well if PK4 isn't blocked).
