I had never seen FT Vanessa, so this movelist is shocking me.

I am definitely playing Vanessa in VF5. And I'm gonna play her hard.

    Thanks Myke /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Oh I'm just loving some of the changes they've given her. I really like how much faster she is in offensive, and a lot more useful mid attacks too! I'm really interested in this "intruder step". I don't know if I've ever even seen that in any video.

Too bad about her hand hold throw not having the huge juggle afterward anymore. Still, the hand hold appears to be a bit more useful now.

Weird with her 6P+K, I'm pretty sure it actually sabakis MP and EL, not HP and HK.

It's a bit risky. If people are used to seeing it they can quickly side kick you out of it. But if you just block, then it's safe. I wonder if you can go intruder step and then quickly dodge...

I like the new one a little more, as EVERYONE escapes P+G anyway. Plus, you can't struggle out of it now.

It's not possible to cancel out of the step itself, but the recovery on just doing the intruder step and not any of the follow up moves is very small, so it might be possible to tap G to clear the buffer and evade.

Agreed, it looks more fluent and the P and K options give you a nice sidehit advantage, so the potential for damaging combos is still there.

VF5 Vanessa looks really interesting, her new Offensive stance stuff looks great.

Can't wait to play with OS 66+K folowups and Intruder step variants.

For an example of intruder step cancel into evade you can watch this video :
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9Nj7IWNPak&mode=related&search=

(Thanks to Ogi for uploading so many great vids by the way ^^)

At around 1:20 the Vanessa player does it, very inspiring Vanessa play overall ^^.

"Switch knee lift" string ender being only -6 on guard and +6 on counter hit is very good IMO for a mid ender.

P,3P uncounterable is also good news even if I already found it hard to punish on reaction in VF4.

DS WS P and 3+K are still very good.

OS 6+K back to evo status is great

    DS6P,3K --> folowup seems better

New sabakis are always welcome ^^

H.A.W.K Strike ufK+G maybe it can be used against rising attacks ?

Atm I can't see any bad news for VF5 vanessa appart from someone mentionning intruder hook isn't as evasive as before. I can't wait to try her new stuff :p

The Black Book lists (DS) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif as a Sabaki against HP and HK.

I wonder if those with the game would be nice enough to test this? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Thanks so much for the link, FrenchAkira. I think I know what the intruder step is now. She can do a rolling kick from that, right? I was really interested to know if that was actually a "short stance" or if it was just a canceled move. Looks like it is indeed a short stance!

Very cool stuff. Thanks for all the info on this, guys.

    Two weird things:
(DS) PPK more disadvantage on MC than hit. (Typo?)

(DS) df+P got super replay. (You got slapped, foo!)

    Lil note:
Saw it was added in FT already, but having a wallthrow in both OS and DS is nice.

    Overall:
More OS strings to bug people with, woohoo!
    P; f+P; f+K; df+K; b,f+P; db+P+K = string openers!
Not to mention loads of other little guess mix-up cans.
    But we knew that already.

Thanks, but the question wasn't whether it was a Sabaki or not.

The question was which class of attacks does it sabaki?

The Black Book says HP and HK, but Jeneric thought it should be MP and EL.

    Can you confirm?

is it still possible to perform vanessas knee combo from OS which involves WS K (counter), FF + K, F+P+K, DF +P+K + K?? kurita uses it alot?

The book is right. It doesnt sabaki mids.

I only got that combo to work until FF+K. F+P+K is that high elbow rite? It doesnt connect. Unless I am doing i wrongly?

Strange since I used it with great resukts against Akiras and Aois while playing in Japan against what at least seemed like elbows /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

I think 6P+K does sabaki high elbows. It seems like almost all high attacks, actually. Its very useful. I really like how vanessa has sabaki setups now.

The Kurita combo mentioned earlier <u>doesn't</u> work, but the command has changed. FF+K is a different knee now. You need to use BF+K.

WS K (counter), BF + K, F+P+K, DF +P+K + K would be the command for that combo now, if it worked.

The problem is DF+P+K doesn't hit anymore. But the WS K(MC) does still lead to a huge combo. After MC with WS K you can use H.A.W.K. (UF+K) or UF+P to start high/mid floats. These even lead to bounce juggles, but I haven't found the maximum damage sequence yet.

I thought he meant mid elbows when Akira doesnt even have a high elbow.

And what I meant by mids is mid elbows and mid punches. Its good to know it sabaki high elbows. Havent tried that.

I don't think 6p+k works against anything mid, at least not in my experience. 46+p does, and 46+p+k works against mk. I wonder if we're all thinking of different moves here...
