I'm liking the changes to Akira in this version. Still getting used to all the stuff. Here's what's been changed or added in FS (w/exceptions).

[P][+][G] : New animation. Close punch to gut.
[4][6][P][+][G]: New animation. No longer a launcher.
[6][4][P][+][G]: New animation for old [4][3][P][+][G].
    [4][P][+][G] : New input for [1][P][+][G].
[2][4][P][+][G]: New input for stumble throw [4][2][P]+[G]. Can go into backstep with [P][+][K][+][G]

[6][6][P][+][K] : Shoulder. Seems to be linear now.
[6][6][P][+][K] (on hit), [P][+][G] : Double palm to chest
[6][6][P][+][K] (on hit), [P][+][G], [P][+][K][+][G]: Transition to backstep.

[1][6][P][+][G]: Shin i'ha. Can go into backstep with [P][+][K][+][G]
[2][K][+][G], [P], [P] : Low, High, Mid. Last [P] depends on timing and only comes out if first [P] comes in contact.
    [2][K][+][G], [P], [8] or [2] : Transition to Shichiseihou (sidestep)

    [3][K][+][G], [P], ([4][6][6])[P][+][K] : New animation. Now Ex-Mid, High, Mid.
    [3][K][+][G], [P], [8] or [2] : Transition to Shichiseihou (sidestep)
[3][K][+][G], [P][+][K] : New option from Dragon Lance. Ex-Mid, Mid. 2nd hit floats on mC/MC. -13 on block.

    [4][3][P] : New animation.
    [4][3][P], [8] or [2] : Transition to Shichiseihou (sidestep)

    Shichiseihou (sidestep)
[P] : Elbow. Knock down on hit.
[P][+][K] : High double palm. guard break.

    Backstep transition
[P] : Crumble on hit. Can be delayed.
    [K] : Low stomp. +16 on hit.

    [3][P][+][K][+][G], [4][3][P][+][K], [2][3][6][P], [4][6][P][+][K] : New guard breaker "SPoD" introduced in VF5R
    . No changes in FS.

[6][P] : Mid punch. No changes.
    [6][P][4] : Hop back.
    [6][P][4], [P] : High palm (guard breaker)
    [6][P][4], [P][P] : Mid elbow
    [6][P][4], [P][+][K] : elbow
[6][P][4], [K] : low kick (hop and delay [K] is the same)
    [6][P][4], [K](on hit), [P][+][G] : hit throw.

    [4][P] : High hook (same as 5R)
[4][P][P] : Follow up high hook (same as 5R)
[4][P][P][+][K] : Mid downward thrust (FS)

Thanks for the great list! I'd like to point out something in particular that I recently spotted in a video.

This is basically replacing the old [2][K][+][G], [P], [6][P], but this new iteration is clearly way more useful. The first hit is Low, not Special Low as the old string was, and the second [P] in this new string seems to be blockable (but not duckable) on NH, and gives him +1 on block. In my opinion, this gives Akira another great "guard break" tool besides [6][P]+[K]+[G], but unlike that attack it can 1) deal damage on its own (useful when the opponent is low on life), and 2) the followup [P] might even be guaranteed after a CH [2][K][+][G] which, if the second [P] causes the hit-stun we so frequently see Akira do in videos before he "Transitions to Shichiseihou (sidestep)", then the canned [P] from that movement will lead to a gut collapse, leading into the combo of your choice...

Not sure about you guys, but I think this sounds wicked awesome [IMG]

[2][K]+[G]>[P] does not guard break. The reason why I put guard break in parenthesis is because it will hit an opponent while they're doing a standing guard (since it's a true Low attack).

I don't think I explained this very well in my original post. Also, I raise the point to using it as an alternative to [6][P]+[K]+[G] because of the possibility of high damage off of a counter hit. [2][K]+[G]>[P] gives +1 on block on NH if the opponent is doing a standing guard (possibly), while [6][P]+[K]+[G] gives significantly more advantage, however the former leads to great damage on CH, while the latter.... not so much. Making them interesting to use alternatively in similar situations.

Hope that's a little clearer. Also, some of the original post was speculation... Maybe someone who's studied Akira's FS vids more closely has come to a different conclusion?

Yes, I got it now! I had been looking on YT vids all evening to find that Akira vs aoi/eileeen match where I though I saw 2K+G, P, doing some kind of hit-stun as you mentioned, but could not find it again.

If the first hit of 2K+GP:p CHs, the following hits seem to be guaranteed (second hit leads to a red flash if I remember correctly). If the first hit is on normal, I haven't seen anyone duck it the following, the second hit will likely be blocked leading to a misleading +1 animation (looks like it would give more or a broken guard, but that is not the case).

    -----

Started an Akira card after messing around with him for months, will post up more if I have time.

Preview: Jeneric's sig holds true, except X10. 666P, 66P (at +1), throws (very very strong). That's Akira still.

Sebo, do you know if [2][K][+][G], [P], [8] or [2] : Transition to Shichiseihou (sidestep) [P] is guaranteed if the first hit is a CH? I've seen videos where the sidestep [P] is guaranteed if [4][3][P] hits on CH, but I'm honestly not sure about the first string.

Looking forward to seeing your Akira matches!

I wonder if 9k can be used to jump over lows now:

It can matt, can get a nice combo from it too [IMG] Not sure if has to be CH though.

EDIT: Just watched the vid and yeah, Akira jumps over Lion's 2p and scores a CH.

On the corner it says this combo is restricted and in specific case.

I wasn't talking about the actual combo, just the fact his [9_][K] can go over lows and he can combo off it.

I noticed an Akira player jumping over low rising attacks with it in vids a while back [IMG]

You know you can use jump attacks over low attacks now, right? [IMG] Stands to reason that you still can in FS, and probably more effectively.

In Vanilla VF5, I rely on blaze 8P+K, Lei 9P+K, Lau 8K and the like to deal with 2P when I know for sure its coming.
It would be nice to have the same option across all the cast, 9K to deal with 2P spam would be ideal! (is it already so?)

This video is on specific case, and I'm wondering is there any other character can do the same way? Or is it just a bonus for Akira?

Well the option is there now. Pretty much everyone has a jumping move as well as a command low now. Also, some moves that used to get beat out by 2P don't anymore. Eileens [9][P] goes clean over/through 2P now like Blaze's 8P+K. In Vanilla it didn't. Doubt it did in R as well as no one used it.
