I wish there was a way to disable mic sounds during games. I love talking with friends in room matches. However, when i don't feel like using my mic i don't like that anytime someone talks it mutes the game sounds even though i can't here what the other person is saying. It can be very annoying considering the human brain registers sound quicker than sight. I have actually played people who intentionally talk/mute game sounds during moves that give audio clues to the move, like "take that" etc.

It would be a nice option to be able to disable all mic sounds when not using a mic.

You can plug in your headset and then take it off. Not ideal but if it's affecting you then it's something.

So i can plug it in then take it off, and i won't get the weird muting effect in game??

If that's accurate then thank you, i will definitely do that when needed.

In the xbox preferences you can adjust the level how much the game sounds are muted when someone talks.

The problem is that while you can adjust it so that game sounds aren't muted at all, then you might have trouble hearing what the people are saying when you actually do want to hear them.. I noticed this during the vf circuit.

ps. I also hate this dynamic muting system..

I think Elite meant, have the headset plugged in, but don't wear it.

    Cheers

Going to the players profile and selecting "mute player" (or whatever) is the easiest way. Just view profile, push up, and hit A.

Doing the headset thing and not wearing it works too. But I think your game sound will still go in and out when someone is talking. You just won't hear them.
