VF5FS Spotlight

I thought it would be cool if we had a place to mention new and upcoming talent in VF. Too often I think we focus on the old veterans in the game who have played since or before vanilla and not enough on some people who are just starting and are making thier way up with some new skill.

GGs thread kinda serves that purpose no?

 

GGs thread, at least from what I see dosen't really serve that function. I like the idea of bringing new players who are getting strong fast some attention, but I'm not really sure what the best way to go about it is.

 

GGs thread used to serve that purpose, guess the matchmaking system making it more difficult to run itno randomers has calmed that down somewhat.

I remember Blossy got props when he was a newbie. The more grizzled vets always get their due as well. I'm not too familiar with the newest guys who came in with FS but if I could learn more about one of the old heads it'd be Myke.

 

I like this ^_^ That said, should it be in the Virtua Fighter General forums? That way I don't have to worry what platform the player was found on. And I can even nominate players seen on streams or videos hehe.

(Tekken) Aris - Wolf - Southern California

I am really impressed with Aris (Tekken player from SoCal) and where he's at in VF given his time with the game. He was on last week's Wednesday Night Fights and I just see a lot of raw potential in that guy. It reminds me of VF4 days when I first saw Blondie or IMF play in New York City and while you can see the holes in the game, YOU REALLY SEE WHAT IS BEING BROUGHT TO THE TABLE and that this guy, if he sticks with VF, should be pretty freaking strong in the future. And it's an exciting feeling.

With Aris, you see high-level sharpness that has adjusted to at least the basic movement, attack, and defensive systems in VF. While he might not be picking the absolute best options, he's showing that he's picking out very deliberate and well-reasoned options. LA vouches that the guy is really smart in his play and is only getting stronger.

I'll be the first to admit that Aris really turned me off (fairly or unfairly) with the whole Cross Assault incident, but I can't lie when someone's VF game makes me turn my head and go "who the heck is this guy?!"

I am pretty sure he is in this archive from Twitch.TV/VFSocal/ but I don't have the timestamps. Will probably edit them in later ^_^

There are also community type spotlights I would love to write about as well, including players from my region, but I'll save that for another time and maybe another place ^_^

I did. Still pretty much a newbie though. I also started playing at a time when people were generally quitting rather than starting lol (shortly before FS was announced). But getting some acknowledgement that I was doing at least something right of course made me want to stick with the game. So I think this thread is a great idea, and now there are many new players and a lot of them are learning really fast I think. Two examples would be Daydream and Hyper P. There are definitely more, but those are two I could think of off the top of my head.

 

Anyone played me before? FS is my first VF game. I play this game enough, so I'm sure someone has. Just want to know how you think I play. I take criticism very well.

 

I want to put the spotlight on Player 7. A brad player who I think is coming into his own. I spar frequently with this guy and he is doing things with brad that stylistically is very impressive. Fr those experienced out there don't hesitate to play this guy. With more experience he will be a top tier brad.

 

I have seen a Player 2 - 7. Do they know each other? Coincidence?

 

I think titantony99 deserves some mention. He is a decent wolf player that I have fought several times and I have seen a few of his replays uploaded. Titantony99 is good at staging guessing games and he also has a good mix-up game.
