I find it funny that participants have less than 15 days to prepare for this tournament. That cabinet is going to be swarmed with people trying to practice up.

This is a first event to promote FS in NA regardless. Maybe we will see SEGA heading to another city as well.

Crazy. Not clear to me, but is the FS machine available there now or is it just the date of the tourney?

Either way, see you guys at 7 PM [IMG]

from what i understand the machines will be there the day of the tourney and from iplaywinners previous special event streams tourneys usually start around 7-8pm.

doors wlll probably open earlier with casuals running till the start of tourney. it takes time for people to arrive and for organizers to make tourney brackets so there should be time to mess with the game before the actual tourney starts.

i'll ask haunts for the concrete info though.

for people coming out of town you can take the bart train straight from the sfo airport to san francisco (montgomery st. stop) and be within 3 blocks of some cheap hotels and the arcade where the event will be at. http://tinyurl.com/googlemapofsouthtownarea (click the "search by" and enter hotels)

Seems that SEGA is already taking the steps to promote the Summer release, and I couldn't be happier about it. Godspeed, California...

To make it worth someone's while could any of the locals setup a secondary gathering/tourney?

if you play ae2012, kof13, cvs2, or umvc3, some of us will be attending this event the next day. http://www.facebook.com/events/305955226114434/

here is a trailer of a previous event at the same place run by the same organizers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BDIDuibbwY&feature=player_embedded its always a good time if you like those games and like to booze.

i am 99.9999999999999% sure there will be no vf there though. [IMG]

Besides, SEGA still likely makes it very difficult to rent out their machines. It's a big enough deal that they're doing this; might be wishful thinking to assume that any nearby (a.k.a. competing) arcades would have Final Showdown, as well.

    From SouthTown Arcade website:

    "GENERAL RULES/REGULATIONS:

    Throws are cheap."

Huh? Is this rule/regulation comment actually serious?
