1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. I've played casually, on and off, since the betas. Sharp do you think you could give me a rundown of the source vs. 1.6 controversy? Is it the hitboxes or...?

I mostly play casually, I don't really understand the technical aspects of how they are different. Apparently though it has something to do with the chance of hitting. In source its easier to get lucky with a crazy head shot or something apparently, but its still super fun IMO.

The hitboxes are model based now instead of hitbox based (so when your shooting the head, you shoot the head not some box that is supposed to be close to the shape of the model lol). Thats the only technical aspect I know of really.

My steam acct is- evilrizes@hotmail.com (Ya i made it when I was like 10 years old okay lol)
and the user name is Sharp-7
Message me whenever and if I'm free I'll be down to play!
and if ur planning to play cs later in the week i cud free up my schedule possibly.

I logged onto Steam today for the first time in a good 6-7months and put TF2 on.

As I remembered, I was playing the game at 20ish FPS on lowest settings.

I tried to update my Nvidia drivers and it BS'd me saying something about not having genuine windows and that it didn't install correctly.

Someone told me to edit the launch properties of TF2 to -dxlevel 80 or something and that made run at literally 5fps!

I changed this back to normal and to my surprised I am now running TF2 at 150-160fps when looking at walls, and a pretty constant 30-60fps when fighting! When it gets a little crazy it does drop to around 20fps though.

I played TF2 for roughly 60hours at 20fps since getting it on Nov 1, 2009. Pretty excruciating.

Now that I am running at an acceptable frame rate I'm gonna play this game alot more now though! [IMG]

Playing TF2 smoothly for the first time ever has really made me consider upgrading my PC or getting a new one.

Anyway if you guys ever want to play I'm on steam (account name Hazzerone) although the only game I currently own is TF2.

Hazzerone - I love TF2 but that's not what this thread is about at all. Unless:

Are there any vanilla servers with maps other than office and dust2? This is getting old.

    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/VFDC

Made a public steam group, so anyone who happens across this thread will be able to join.

Maybe we should change the thread to Steam general?

Yeh, sorry for going off topic a bit with the TF2.

So how does CS:S or CS 1.6 or whatever you guys call it compare to requirements for TF2?

Would you be expecting to run CS at a higher or lower fps than TF2 at lowest settings?

I've played CS before round a friends house who has a really powerful comp. I was terrible at it (and until I get used to playing PC FPS properly I still will be terrible).

I remember the reason why I even got TF2 on steam was because a friend of mine off of XBL bought TF2 and somehow managed to give me a copy of TF2 for free.

Was this some sort of special deal or can you buy games on steam and give away a few codes? If that's the case I would really appreciate if one of you could send me CS.

Anyway I'm gonna log onto steam now and add you all.

My steam tag is Kamais_Ookin for anyone that can't guess mine, you can also find me in the group.

    Hazzerone:

TF2 is a heavier game then CS Source, just the release dates alone should be a indicator. If your capable of running TF2 at lowest settings then I guarantee your going to be able to run CS Source.

CS Source is a game like any other ones so your going to have to pay some $$ if you want to play, there are no codes.

GG's to Sharp7 as well while I'm here, I had a lot of fun playing CS with you today and it's so much better then playing alone, we need to play more often there were so many funny moments! [IMG]

Been playing TF2 quite a bit of late. I used to be into CS back in the day this could be a good excuse to try out CSS. Started with 0.4c or something, when the AWM was the AWP and the Colt Carabine (now M4A1) could zoom, I still call that gun 'the Colt' to this day. I usually go T with an AK47 anyway so it was all the same to me.
