1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

The guide does NOT contain frame data. It doesn't even tell you which way to step half-circular moves like the VF5 Brady Games guide did...

My understanding has been that Sega actually gives the frame data to magazines and stuff when asked for it, I thought I'd heard that site you mentioned actually shut down anyway, and was longer providing that info, so Sega just decided to release it. I'm also not 100% sure, though... so, maybe someone else can confirm.

Also, I think the official guide on 360 did have frame data, can't remember for sure because I don't own it either, but I looked at a friend's copy a couple times, like 6 months ago.

*EDIT*: Gernsburg: We're talking about the VF5 guide, not the SC4 guide.

VF5 guide does not have frames. It does speak to advantage and disadvantage of certain moves that are actually analyzed but it just says, "you're at disadvantage if this is blocked" or "advantage if this or that hits" but not by how many frames or anything like that.

The move-lists only have the damage and which way to step to evade, no frames. The VFDC move-lists are a thousand times better and more in depth than the Brady Games guide.

I was confused because Brady Games makes the official guides for both games, VF5 and SC4...

Interestingly enough, the Brady Games guys give a nice, big shout out to David "Srider" Zou (sp?) for his input in the "Thank you's and credits" section...

I really like the Brady Games guides! I often read them cover to cover just for fun... If I get a game and I like it, I usually buy the guide too just because I love reading them so damn much. The SC4 guide does have some useful strats for every character.

I have noticed that the Brady Games guys always format their fighting game advice by range. So they'll have a close, mid and long range tactics section for each character, they're pretty interesting...

    Here's Astaroth advice:

    1[A]~A/B
    A+B
    6K
    22/88 B4 28B+G
    66A~B 28B+G
    22/88 AA
    2B+K~B+G/A+G (use after CH 6K)
    22/88 A+B
    1K A
    3K A
    QCB AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

That's all you need to win with him.

Just remember to keep using 6K, A+B, 1[A] and 66AB.

    QCB B+G, 22/88 B is also good.
