Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary ~Memory of Decade

Seems like a new disc coming out from AM2

    Here's the features

The Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary ~Memory of Decade~ book features two interesting collectibles in one:

A PlayStation2â„¢ compatible game features all characters from the most recent VF4 Evolution release into plain polygon graphics as known from Virtua Fighter 1.

Additionally a DVD looks back at the origin of the game, describes its development and more.

An interesting goodie for all fans of the series.

Which will be released on November 28th

Here;s the link if anybody wants to pre-order it.

Can someone like zero-chan or fishie clarify in details what these discs will actually contain.

Urm, basicaly its got the 10th aniversary edition(the one that is included in the North American release of VF4Evo) and wich is basicaly Evo characters and moves with VF1 rules, its a fun diversion for like 10 minutes and looks cool but as a competitive fighting game its useles.
The second DVD is just as it states, a DVD with the history of VF explained with footage and timelines, the book itself talks about VFs rich history as well.

Got this today from Video Game Depot. (And NCS doesn't even HAVE theirs yet. muwahaha.) Here's the package contents:

VF 10th Anniversary game - We all know what this is by now, now in tasty JP format!

VF 10th anniversary mook - collection of images and text about the development of VF throughout the years. Sadly, most of the images are just stylized screenshots - I have hoping for design documents and beta character designs and whatnot. Oh well, can't win them all...

    - VF 10th Memory of Decade DVD - now this is the real meat of the package. A feature-length documentary of the evolution (pun not intended) of the Japanese VF scene. Interviews and personal recollections from players like Shinjuku Jacky, Ikebukuro Sarah, Kyasao, Daimon Lau, BunbunMaru, Kurita, Chibita, and many others. Scenes from tournaments of years past, including lots of fun VF2/VF3 footage. Images of famous players as they looked in their formative VFing years. (See what Chibita looked like in his middle-school years as Chibikko Akira!) It's all here and it's great fun to watch, but as it's a documentary, it is LOADED with Japanese dialogue. You can watch it for the tourney scenes, but those are hardly the bulk of the feature - most of it is talk with the Big Name Players and other assorted glimpses into Japanese VF culture.

About halfway through the video I had to stop it and go sob on the couch because I got homesick for VF in Japan. Take that as you will.

Also, NY peoples, you'll be glad to know that your 15 seconds (and, uh, that's pretty accurate ^^;;;;) of international fame are at the end of the feature. Now you all can join my KSII cameo in the Gaijin VFer Appearance Hall of Fame! XD

I bought this the day it came out at Aso Bit City in Akihabara.
The fun thing is that they had a special event for the release of Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary ~Memory of Decade .

At the top floor - the event floor - of Aso Bit City, they had set up tables with PS2s and VF anniversary games for us to play.
A good thing I bought this from Aso Bit City or else I would have missed out on that.
After having played for a while, I entered the mini tournament of VF anniversary. My friend and me were the only foreigners in the room.
some famous players like Chibita and Edo were there.
Chibita lost at the first match and Edo the second I think.
The commentator was doing some hilarious comments ^_^
During that mini tournament we were shown the horrific power of Aoi's unescapable multi throw complete with the ground throw, ouch!!

The fun thing is that the players never expected to have a foreigner to such an event. It was funny to see the commentator struggling with my ring name, the player who opposed me not sure if I understood that the winner of Jan Ken Pon (Rock, Paper, Scissors) would get to choose on which side he'd wish to play. And finally the commentator assumed I was an american on which account I corrected him, and he was surprised that I had understood what I was saying ^_^

Anyway, it was a fun little event to promote the Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary ~Memory of Decade package! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
