    found this link

    http://sega.jp/community/creators/vol_11/1.html

    at the arcadia magazine webite.

It's 3 pages worth of an interview with Satoshi Katagiri. Even with a ROUGH translation through Altavista.com, it's still very interesting. The word "VF5" pops up in the discussion.

BTW, can someone that can read Japanese post a better translation?

His name is Daiichi Katagiri. You might be thinking of Satoshi Tajiri from Game Freak.

I might attempt to do this, since it's of personal interest. Dunno if my JP skills are up to par though...

My favorite quote, after Cafeglobe translation, about Evolution has to be " Fighting gets still hotter! ". Where can I sign up?

They are probably talking about Akira in his Short Hair and Beard. He look likes he starred in some 70's gay porn with that get up. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Akira - Looks like your pipe is leaking. Let me get my wrench. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

He looks even more homosexual when he's wearing that little black police hat and with sunglasses.. looks like a gay biker SM freak.

I was just reading the interview, and most of the info are nothing new. They talked about enhanced AI developed with players like kyasao's comments and famous player's fight data in the AI and stuff. A section about the hyper battle action mode. There is one thing that caught my eyes though. Apparently, there will be replays featuring famous players playing included in the game. That's not all though, now sega will SHOW you the inputs they make ON SCREEN at the same time as the action is happening!!!! The page already shows a picture of a match between chibita and segaru. This will be VERY exciting to see those crazy players are actually doing when they play. Thank you Sega! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey, i'm thinking of starting Akira because of that custume, I think it's a riot /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Add the leather armband and black costume for a perfect set.
Actually you can make some of the males look like something that climbed out of a Tom of Finland artbook. Wolf and Brad with their mohawk hairstyles. 2p Jacky is a leatherbiker to begin with. Lion needs a helmet though, his hairstyles are too femme to be a real Tom's Man /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Does it mention whether the tournament feature will be available outside of quest mode? Also, does he mention any new features in training mode that we haven't heard of yet?

Here are the new features in training mode. Besides new features like throw escape practice, strategy guides, textual info, combo tutorials, etc. I'm going to list the new options they added in the training mode options.

    CPU setting
    - Now you can the the cpu's reactions after they guard your attacks

    CPU advanced setting
-Rising speed (amount of delay cpu will lay on the groud)
    -Stagger recovery speed

    Display setting
-Evade information (displays which side you can evade for the moces)

    Ring position setting
    -Save current position
    -Move saved position
    -Delete saved position

    Wall setting
-Virtual Wall (not sure what this means, might be for practicing wall combos)

Sounds Exciting! Especially the cpu reaction after guard option!!

Would the training mode in EVO allow players to choose different stages throughout the game?
That feature was missing in VF4.I like that feature in VF3(DC).

Its not needed in VF4 becouse al you need to take into acount stage wise is walls or no walls.

The elevation in VF3 made things different depending on actual level and placement on those levels.

Any idea exactly what options those are? I'm hoping it's detailed enough to allow you to specify which throws you want the cpu to counter-attack with.

What about Trial training mode? Did the interview mention any significant upgrades to it? Hopefully we can get a full translation of all the new "chapters" when the game's finally released. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Oh man I hope so. I can't stand the training stage and it's music in VF4.
