Off topics spreading all over VFDC, someone have to change this thread name too, because there is no VF news anywhere to talk about it.

You can only get trolled so many times. It's getting to the point where Sega could release this game and no one would believe it.

Yeah, time is wasted... and we are still waiting for FS, yet, SEGA haven't released it... When do you think will it be released??? This month? Next month? Are there any latest news? :3

If you enjoy the game, play it, if not, then dont. No need for an announcement as the retirement thread has long come and gone.

Dude, you're the LAST person that should be saying this.

    Sorry, that's how I feel.

And to the others making jokes about quitting VF:

How long are we going to make bad excuses for the fact that, in all likelihood, SEGA has turned its back on us?

I hope I'm wrong, but every positive sign or guarantee was followed with an equally depressing lack of action on SEGA's part. At some point, you guys will have to come to grips with the fact that we are ALL missing out.

It's one thing to be a fan and an entirely different thing to be an apologist.

Seriously guys, FS isn't done yet. It needs a bit more time in the oven. Maybe Sega will share its pie with us when its done, but not before.

Is it wrong that when i read this i pictured an old man on a chair with a blanket over his lap polishing a shotgun and shouting into his house? His next words were; "get off my land..."

And Gernburgs, why shouldn't LA be saying that. It's totally correct. Games are meant for enjoyment. Surely then it makes more sense then to play the games you enjoy. The fact that sega hates us doesn't stop VF5 vanilla being a great game.

VF5 is a great game, but let's be real - not awhole lot of cats are online with this game except a handful at a time... Local scenes are far and few also... I think about the 3S scene, and how so many people still play that game, and have sessions and tourneys or whatever no matter where you go, even after SF4 dropped... The numbers between VF and SF are obviously different. There's no consistency in VF in my opinion... There's more consistency with other scenes imo like say MB, or even with the SSBM scene (which I believe is smaller than ours)... What I mean is not everybody can go anywhere to battle cats in VF, except for their smaller sibling in some cases... But all they need to do is turn on the PS3 or X360 and there's either an online tourney, or sessions in SF4... VF seems to get some hype, and then dies quickly, probably for different reasons... Accessibility in the system, constant accessibility to a local/online scene, and replay value (VF4Evo had all 3 imo, especially the 1st and 3rd points)... There are probably a few other reasons, but I don't want to really dive any further into that...

I'll still play VF5... Hell, you guys already know I'll play any game even if its old (my list is mad long)... I used to be apart of local scenes with about 3-7 people in it, so I'm used to things like this... I can see why people are discouraged though. I mean new material is out, but not "accessible" (PeeWee Herman magic word) to people. And after some time of waiting, it's still not "accessible", but you see other fighters coming out the woodwork and openly available or getting released soon and its somewhat disappointing and somewhat depressing... But you gotta press on... I could see if there wasn't another VF coming out even in Japan for the next several years, then I'd definitely would be like "stop whining", 'cause ST players weren't asking for a new SF - ST was (and still is) a good game. So if SF3 weren't to come out (back then) it wouldn't matter... Man, who here waited a gangload of years for TTT2 to come out, but was still playing the first TTT??? I was, but I wasn't sweating it not coming out, because the 1st one was great imo... Ok, I'm done for now...

Ok, I knew that wouldn't go over too well but here's why...

I DO want to start by saying, "get off my land" though!

Not too long ago it was L_A himself posting about how he was quitting VF, I remember it clearly. Then the same guy who was supposedly quitting dropped the guarantee and that hasn't materialized yet either...

But L_A shouldn't be coming here and lecturing people on the EXACT SAME THING he did himself only a few months ago. He was also responsible for ginning up several places on the internet with the hollow-as-of-yet guarantee which has only served to make to the lack of news that much more painful...

I'm just calling hypocrite because he's done the same thing. I agree 100% that VF5 is a great game, but how many people here still play VF3 and are happy with being two or three versions behind what have on console right now? I'd imagine it's not that many.

But how long can the VF5 legs stand as we get further and further behind the 8-ball? At some point, it will inevitably not be able to stand on it's own anymore, and without SEGA to do what they should be doing already, and breath some real life back into it, the future is looking pretty bleak.

We're finally on that last stretch of a long dark highway to irrelevance, but there doesn't seem to be anymore exits to get off this road before we get there. SEGA is the only one who has the power to change our course, and so far, they haven't indicated there's a plan to lay down any more pavement. At some point, you have to wonder what we will continue to drive on before the gas tank is on "E"?

I don't know about you guys, but I've been driving down this road for 17 years and I'm feeling pretty sad that my journey may really come to end and that it may not be far off. 17 years is a long time and I've always shown my love and dedication. To have put so much in, only to end in ruin, is a really painful thought for me... Honestly, I don't feel good about it.

If I remember correctly LA stopped playing VF because he didn't have enough time to play and be as good as he'd like to be. I could be wrong. He took his own advice from what I remember. He stopped playing.
