I actually think you are wrong there. VF5:R will be almost like a brand new game, Sega will have to implement 2 new characters, 18 or 20 new stages, new items, and probably loads more too (new costumes, new music, new menus and probably lots of other extras). I don't think AM2 would go to this much trouble just to waste it for arcades only. Saying this will never be released at home is like saying VF6 will be arcade only.

Sega will want everyone to see the new characters and features and will most likely bring this game to console. This isn't just a little update like version B, C, D etc.

I guess you're right, but don't forget, that Virtua Fighter 5 R still has to go through some development probably, then some location tests, then ver.A, and then probably ver.B will hit home consoles. I'm just speculatin on the version thing based on how it was with VF4 and Evo.

I knew someone would mention this, that's almost the same as saying version D's not coming out.
It wasn't as big a release as Evo. No new characters for FT - only new backgrounds and moves. Plus a PS2 version wouldn't have been popular and not worth releasing. They can advertise VF5:R with the new characters and the possibility of 2 formats to release it on. It will definitely sell better than a PS2 Final Tuned would have.

They'd be daft to not release a brand new game that uses the same engine as VF5. This is more than just an update and will most likely be released at home.

 

FT didn't have new characters though.

 

Yes, I missed the original backgrounds of VF3's arcade mode - we had to stick with Wolf's crummy daytime desert, and Jeffry's ugly black sky on his island. I'm still crossing my fingers for a Sega Ages VF3 re-release - although I shouldn't get greedy, VF5:R is the best news I could have hoped for. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
