Virtua Fighter 5R Version B Hands On Report

Namflow came to visit for Golden Week - before catching the bus home to Kanazawa from Shibuya we stopped in the Club Sega to check out the location test.

General Notes:
-They have a lot of VF machines but very few people were playing. Club Sega in Akihabara and of course Nishi Shinjuku are always more happening than this place.

Gameplay Changes we noticed:
Shun:
After /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw Shun automatically stands up.

Blaze:
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ub.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif's speed has been dramatically increased. At first it looked unnatural seeing Blaze jump backwards so quickly. The attacks after jumping off of the wall are the same speed.

The old /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif combo still works. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif worked for solid damage as well (I'm not sure if this combo worked in version A or not).

The signs on each of the location test machines had information about additions to the single player mode.

How is he in relation to the opponent after standing up? Is he on the side?
Also, can you escape form the range of rising attack, or does your opponent move too fast then?
