Virtua Fighter 6 (General Discussion)

Hey guys, I tried searching for other topics related to VF6 but I didn't see any that was in general as this might be, but if I didn't search hard enough, I do apologize but feel free to merge this with the respectful thread.

    Anyway, 2 questions:

    1. Do u think it will EVER be made even if it's a bit of a long time similar to Dead or Alive whether it is for consoles or just arcades?

    2. If u could improve it anyway, how would you, from customization, level designs, frames, move sets, anything u could think of?

Here are some of my ideas:

    Customization:

-Similar to what I have seen in VF5:FS which includes multiple outfits especially swim suits.

-DON'T have the item point limit featured in VF5.

-Have the glowing orb items return but also use it to place on any limb or even use it as a scrunchy if the character is customized with a ponytail or a similar hairstyle.

-Include glowing orbs that change colors every few seconds.

    Levels/Arenas:
-Include old stages or redesigned ones such as the aquarium stage from VF4, the palace stage from VF4, Sarah's Subway stage from VF3.

-Some cool/beautiful stages would be a fountain in a mall or something (there was one in Tekken 4), a garden on the top of a skyscraper with other skyscrapers within the distance.

    Options:

-Include the option to have all characters speak one language (even if it's cheesy) similar to in Virtua Quest.

-Include subtitles which I've heard might be included in a later VF game some years ago during an interview when VF5 was being made.

    Graphics:

-Option to include motion blur similar to VF3 which was also an option in Tekken 6.

-Have characters not only get soaked in rain/shallow water like in VF5 but get dirt; maybe tears in clothing.

-Also maybe have characters sweat in hot environments.

-Have characters whose hair are styled a certain way come undone after being attacked a specific way.

    What do u guys think?

I like some of those ideas but I'm not a fan of the glowing orb on feet, arm or head...It makes the game look arcady and like the character has a super power.

    What do u guys think?

I think that you listed a lot of cosmetic things and it would be easier to take you seriously if you posted about more compelling stuff.

To be honest, I don't understand the whole frame mechanics if that is the "compelling" stuff u were referring to.

Yes. that and things that would make a real difference.

Example: the ability to upload replays to youtube. Or putting back the AI training mode from VF4, just for the sake of Single Player longevity.

Definitely yes at the VF4 EVO training mode especially with analog support for the controller that was absent in VF4 Evo, I had such a hard time trying to recover from a stagger from either it was Lau or possibly Akira, I think it was Lau.

Im talking about the AI training mode in VF4 vanilla that lets you train an AI partner so that he can fight against you or against other AI's (in quest mode, or your friends's fighter saved on a memory card).

What if you could raise your AI fighter and let it fight other people online? that would really improve single player/lack of online opponents.

oh that, to be honest, I thought that was useless (no offense), it's basically the computer playing for u, all u do is go through a character's entire move list, and sit back and watch. That's ur opinion and i respect that nonetheless.

none taken, but its not as useless as "Have the glowing orb items return but also use it to place on any limb or even use it as a scrunchy if the character is customized with a ponytail or a similar hairstyle"

-Implementing frame data in Dojo would be great.

-A rematch option when playing arcade so you don't have to wait to go back to the arcade menu and wait for the match to load again.

-Adding a combo list (Even if it's bare-bone combos) would be a great help for new players or even experienced players who want to try a different character.

-Replacing quest mode AI's with our own AI fighter would be a dream come true since the 360's expert AI's are a little too perfect (treading dangerously here). I mean perfect throw escapes? A very few amount of people think about trying to escape a [1][P]+[G] throw.

    -A STORY MODE

That's all I can think of at the moment.

-I would like to see a story mode even if the majority of characters are cheesy when talking.

-Also include ghost data similar to tekken 6.

Indeed, I think that's a major reason why VF doesn't sell as much as tekken. No real short term goals like completing story mode.

I would like to see TUTORIALS, massive massive tutorials for the newbies!

The manual for VF5 was so bad it was amazing!

I was wondering how soon in this thread somebody was going to mention VF sales and Tekken. How refreshing.

(PS: the VF5 manual is great, maybe you should read it)

are any of u guys able to answer my first question:
"Do u think it will EVER be made even if it's a bit of a long time similar to Dead or Alive whether it is for consoles or just arcades?"

Def, your question defies good sense, so we just pretended you did not ask it.

Answer: It will be made, first for the arcades in Japan, where VF is among the most played games. The question is: will it come to the west?

def, I think you've been frequenting VFDC long enough to appreciate just how disconnected we are from the decision makers. You might as well ask us if anyone here thinks it's going to be sunny on the 23rd of March, 2014.

My answer to you is why do even you care what others think the future holds? Enjoy the sunshine today.

The xbox manual basically just VAGUELY mentions things like reversals, I don't even think it mentions sabakis. Even if it does, its incredibly difficult to tell if a move sabakis, and exactly what it sabakis against as it doesn't list those.

Additionally it makes NO MENTION of back rolling, side rolling, side-instant roll... Okay maybe its not amazing bad, but its far from good.

Maybe you missed pages 5 to 7 where it tells you about basics in a way that not other manual has ever done, explaining - with pictures - about advantages and disadvantages, large and small.

    PS: are you trolling?

i like the idea of AI,s fighting for u it wasnt just learning the moves list in vf4evo it also learned your attack pattens and throw escapes and quick rolls. i think they should make tekken v vf but they would have to slow the tekken chars down and make them work like vf but it would be awsome and include a tag team option.

A lot of what I've read has been pessimistic and apparently it's not actually doing that well in the arcades. Maybe the way Arcadia gathers it's data isn't reliable.

The way Sega are focussing now I'm not that confident there will ever be a VF6.
