Virtua Fighter Movie?

If you had the option to make a real live action movie about the virtua fighter series.

- Would you devise a brilliant way in how to include all of the characters in the game, into the movie?

If so: how would you do it?

- Or would you pick one character and tell his story?

If so: who would it be?

-What kind of theme would you make this movie of: Action, wuxia, comedy, drama, suspense or action/adventure oriented?

-would you use real famous actors or "fresh new faces"?

-where would like to film the movie?

 

I'm too tired to fully respond but if I had to choose one character it'd be Kage because he's just badass as shit and he seems to have the most interwoven character story. That along with Jacky sarah as close seconds tied with akira 's story. There is also the Lau and pai chan conflict which somehow got resolved but I think it'd make a better movie if the conflict between the two of them was resolved during the movie.

 

I'd like to see Jeffry be played by Kimbo Slice. I'd laugh my ass off if he did Splash Mountain on someone.

 

Brad Burns in a funny movie would be nice. And I'm sure there are a lot of actors who could perfectly mimic Brad. Akira would be boring cuz he is some kind of a main character. Also good would be Goh and the J6. Or Lion's father and the connections to J6, something like that.

 

Jaws remake starring Jeffry.

 

I would go with all CG. These characters are to beloved to have some actors that only slightly look like them to play the parts. Having said that I would make the movie 3 hours long to include all stories or I would make it a 3 part series with the movies being around 1.5 hours long each.

 

You guys know VF already has a licensed anime series, right? Noone talks about it much... it was, uh, "unique" might be the only applicable remotely positive term.

 

Call me crazy but I don't think a VF movie would turn out too well. Knowing how VG movies go.

Here's why. Even the crappiest of game to movie, movies, become classics somehow lol. Take the SF movie for example. It's horrible, there's no denying it, yet... so many purchased it and love it.

Ideally, this movie could be amazing. Like GMonroy mentioned, all CG, would be incredible, if it was done 'right'. But odds of something like that actually happening are too slim lol.

(Saying all of this to make light of it, I do agree with you ClockworkRipoff lol, it would most likely be bad :\)

Bad character acting would kill the movie so as it was mentioned before it should all done in CG like the Final Fantasy movies were. They also have to made sure they have at least decent voices why not have the actually people that play the voices in the game do them in the CG movie as well. I also feel it should focus on the main plot of the VF series if people actually took the time to read the book that came with the game mainly focusing on Dural Kage's mother and how Kage and people that help him along the way (the other main fighters) all aid in restoring Dural to her human form.

I also liked the idea of having it parts that way you could have the back story of the characters included as well that would be great, it might bore the non VF audience as to why we should care about a young lady that hates her father to death and wants to surpass him (pai) or the person that wants to be like pai (eileen) but it would separate it from the typical action movie we see that has no real plot or drama in it.

 

No! Making a movie based from a video game is blasphemy! We all know the results from fans and critics.[/size]
