Virtua Fighter VS. Tekken: if they ever made one

if they ever made one who do you guys think should be in it? i think all of the VF characters and some of the shenmue characters should be in it. and and for the namco side it's hard to say because they have so many characters, but one thing is for sure that Lee Chaolan has to be in it. and some dead to rights characters. and who do you guys think should make it, sega or namco? you guys have any ideas about this game? even though this is just fantasy talk.

 

I've played a VF versus Tekken game on a Genesis/Megadrive emulator on the PC. Wasn't too great but it was fun to give Paul Pheonix a kicking with Akira.

 

Naaah won't happen anytime soon, but since this is fantasy talk.

The whole VF crew including Taka, a few characters from Shenmue : Ren, Ryo, Lan Di, Guizhang...

Every Tekken character but they can leave out the animals though, no mokujin/combot.

I guess both could work on it. But I'd let Am2 handle most of the fighting engine. The Tekken Team could work on the character designs and storyline.

Hmm maybe have it like Capcom vs Snk with a Tekken groove and a VF groove. Tekken groove = no guard button, lp,rp,lk,rk... VF groove = PKG, universal CD, BCD...

 

Why have characters from Shenmue? You said VF vs. Tekken, not Namco vs. Sega.

Usually in this kind of fantasy post, people pair up characters according to looks and not style (i.e. Sarah vs. Nina, Jacky vs. Paul).

Best fantasy matchups:

Sarah vs. Hwoarang - Battle of flamingo stances.
Akira vs. Paul - Falling Leaf vs. Akira special 3
Wolf vs. King - Giant Swing vs. Giant Swing
Brad vs. Bryan - Muay Thai vs. watered down kickboxing
Brad vs. Steve - Hawaiian shirts and spittle.
Aoi vs. Nina - Battle of Japanese internal styles
Vanessa vs. Craig - Battle of the mount positions.
Jacky vs. Kazuya - +, = +1, +2
Dural vs. Combot - Battle of the copycats.
Shun vs. Heihachi - Battle of the geriatric fighters who should be dead.

The remaining characters don't match up so well.

 

Jacky vs Lee - battle of the annoying screams.

I actually would love to see this type of game come out. I think it would be great for both parties to work together as in both could learn from each other.

Erm...since you're being nitpicky, why would you describe aikijujitsu as an "internal" style?

 

thanks for responding. you guys came up with some great ideas. all VF characters should be in it, but not all the tekken characters, the tekken series has really cool characters and storyline but they also have some of the most retarded characters ever. combot, alex, roger, mokujin, just to name a few. i think a few Dead To Rights characters should make the cut like Jack Slate, Pinnacle, sickel, and Fahook. I think Jacky Bryant Vs. Jack Slate would make a good fight. What do you guys think?

In the VF4 storyline it says that Aoi trained harder and learned some Aikido and Kobujutsu in addition to Aikijujitsu. Nina supposedly does Aikido and Koppo (never heard of this style).

The real reason is that I'm not really much of an expert on the subject of martial arts. To me, any art where they reverse and throw alot is "internal". /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If such a game were to be made, IMO it should be strickly VF vs. Tekken. If that were successful, they could do others in the series like Fighting Vipers vs. Soul Calibur or Namco vs. Sega.

 

Strictly VF and Tekken???...all I know is that I want to see some badass Pac-Man versus Akira matches.

But seriously though, I'd only want to see Pac-man and the Daytona car in a mini game like Tekkenbowl or something.

 

I disagree. They should be automatically selectable with an optional handicap for the opponent and special scaling damgage formulas during combos.

Also, I think the Paintbrush from Amidar should be in this. That paintbrush rocked.

VF uses punch, guard and kick and DOA uses something very close-> punch, kick and Free!! I think they fit better!!! The Mishima Zaibatsu merges with J6 to form a new company : MJ6. Kazuya takes over the Dural project and orders the scientist to create Dural 2.0 aka project x = Male version of Dural standing 7 ft tall with the ability to choose between 2 different fighting styles like Vannessa.
