    What up,

This to all the UK folk or to anyone else for that matter. I have been listening to VNV Nation (a music band) for quite some time now, but I have only met a few people who have heard of the band. I know they are based out of London and they used to tour around the US but they stopped once I started to get really interested in them. Out of curiosity, how popular where they at the height of their popularity in the UK? I mean could you just mention the name and people would know? Are they pretty washed up these days in the UK?

If anyone has not heard this band, you should at least check it out.

    Thanks for the time,

    Neeks

i happan to love em. vnv nation is always good at the raves i go to.

however, house, trance and dance music IMO in the uk is not as popular as RnB, indie rock, other whatever other subdivisions of rock you wanna include.

but its popular with me, and im forced to go to underground raves (or moreso i choose to) just because theres not alot of raves that are at legal establsihments. but hey, i could be wrong.

I just caught VNV Nation at the end of last year. It was my first time seeing them, they haven't toured the U.S. in almost 2-3 years. I just checked their site and their new album comes out in April and they tour the US starting in May. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

VNV is a synthpop band, I've only heard their music being played at goth clubs in the US. They are very big in Germany. But they are prolly considered the best in that genre. For music thats dance-oriented, the lyrics to their songs are top-notch. Only bands in their field that hold a candle to them in my opinion is Covenant and Apoptgyma Bezerk.

    Shag,
You beat me. I was also about to post about the upcoming tour. heh. I am not big into concerts or anything like that but for VNV I think I will be in Atlanta on May 11th to see them! I missed their Atlanta visit last time by three days! ><

I agree with you about the lyrics, it's actually the only reason I listen to them really, I just wish more (esp. popular ones) bands tried to get the same kind of message across ...I am not into techno as much as use to be, but goes perfectly with the theme and message.

In case anyone is wondering: VNV = Victory Not Vengence

Tour dates for North America and Europe

Just got back from Atlanta after watching VNV on the 11th.

My god...if anyone ever has a chance to see them live, please take the time do it, you will not forget it. But be sure you know some of the lyrics because sometimes you can't understand/hear what Ronin is saying and then it will just turn into a techno fest. A straight up good show.
