    Thanks for the advice, Kruza.
    I was searching for a faq about Jet Grind Radio at gamefaqs.com recently, and in "codes and secrets" there are a bunch of replays, cheats, and other goodies, which have something to do with VMU files and VMI/VMS. I'm guessing that it pertains to the procedure you were describing.
    Now all I need is a VMU, and I'll be set. Hopefully/versus/images/icons/crazy.gif
