Does anyone know the conditions required for a move to cause a wall section to break? I'm trying to finish one of the "break 20 wall sections" challenges and it's hard going. Is it just a case of only certain moves can break walls? Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried the search but didn't find anything.

Hmm yes I think only certain moves will cause a wall break. You'll love the later challenge of 40 wall breaks! As Akira good wall break moves are the dbpm ([2_][4][6][P]) and the DJK ([6][6][K][K]).Not sure on the damage required to break em though. Can't think of any more of hand but if I find some I'll let you know.

If you are using Shun, a good way is to backdash to the wall. Then block a throw counterable move and do the df+p+g throw and then do the db+k,k move. That move will cause a wall break.

I think it might be based on the damage potential of the move, but I'm just guessing. Maybe anything damaging enough to cause a heavy wall stagger?

Goh's standing [K] is another move that works well.

If you are using jacky, good wall breaking moves are d/u+K+G, d/f,d/f+P+G. I can't remember what else.

Remember the cpu can break the walls for u by putting u into the wall and it still counts. I found breaking the walls really easy just jump away with your character and go to the wall, wait till the cpu arrives flip over them and smash them through it. Also a way to make it longer is to make sure u let the cpu wins rounds as well that way u can get at least 10 walls done by the end

If you're using akira its quite easy.
    Back to wall, [4][2][P]+[G] [1][1][4][6][P]
    rinse and repeat.

Aoi's [6][K],[K] and [6][6][P]+[K],[P] also break walls. I believe there are at least one or two more that do, but cannot remember offhand.

Just go into free training mode and set the walls to "walls breakable" and then start abusing the CPU anyway you can until you find as many moves as you think you will need (with you character) to break the wall with.

After you find a move the does break a wall, you might want to jot it down or put some kind of note in the manual, or print out a movelist and take notes on it, anything along the lines of being able to remember it will suffice imo.
